 Wardrobe Wizard Vs Cross-Dresser...
Getting harder to find new 'off the peg' freebies for Posette, and I'm discovering that my 3D modelling skills --and patience-- are not up to crafting smart outfits...
But, out there are two (2) rival products which will convert conforming garments between figures...
I like PCooke's Wardrobe Wizard's style, especially as it will run stand-alone.
I like EvilInnocence's CrossDresser's pricing as I'd only need two licences --for conversions TO P4M & P4F...
Thoughts ??
Background is that a lot of the costumes I need to visualise my story are Fantasy / Anime-ish. I could use Aiko3, MayaDoll, M3 etc as body-doubles but, like hiding poke-through limbs is a last resort, I would prefer to keep everything 'strictly' P4F/M...
For one thing, I must watch the polygon counts, and DAZ' folk are very complex...

 Re: Wardrobe Wizard Vs Cross-Dresser...
CrossDresser to me is great. Also the good person on the site is making some nice Posette clothes. You always support the one that is giving you something nice in return.

Thanks, Posy & tda42, for those words of wisdom !!
Happens I've just had a kind reply to my pre-purchase enquiry...

No, you don't need to be online in order to use CrossDresser.
Yes, XD is compatible with Poser 4.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Adapting Dynamic Clothes With EI's CrossDresser......
Hi, do we know if EI's CD can convert dynamic clothes ?
{FX: ###!! Aaagh, forum editor ate an exceptionally eloquent paragraph... }
Ok, if a 'dynamic' garment is a pre-grouped OBJ iteratively tweaked by clothes-room to fit one (1) character, then both PC's WW and EI's CD must use a similar system, starting with *anything*-- Even garments intended to conform to the target character ??
Can EI's CD 're-cut' GG's infamous P4 gowns, wonderfully cut and ornamented, but notorious for their misfits and poke-throughs ??

 Re: Wardrobe Wizard Vs Cross-Dresser...
Thats a good question but I think you still can make it dynamic when you convert the obj. file.
As for the reason of being on line with the software. The first version required an on line activation. Which was in my way of thinking didn't make a lot of sense. Things like Microsoft and other high end software I could see this but this software being free and a PC that you are going to have off line was starting to be a big headache. Some people have PCs off line because of the large amount of things in them. So the makers decided to make a version that didn't require the activation. Now I am talking about the first question about Crassdresser. I am not sure about EI's CD. But Poser 5 will do the set up on Dynamic clothing but that is for 5,6,and 7. Poser 3 and 4 will not do Dynamics. Power to the people.
A final note here. If you have any clothing you can use Crossdresser to cloth any Posette. So I would look at other cloth models with better quality to put on your Posette. I do it all the time. Hope this helps you NIK.

Thanks tda42 !
I don't want dynamic clothing, but there's some nice freebies in that format...
Um, looks like P_7 is staying in box for several months more-- I don't have time to learn it...

I don't know the other software but CD works fine. I prefer dynamic dresses BTW, they don't need to be converted because they are... dynamic , just scale the body of the character into one of them and "inflate" it in the animation and the dress will fit the body , there are a couple of tutorials about it on the forum.

 Cross-Dresser...
Okay, after much grumbling and doubt, I've decided to get C-D...
Ahead of choosing WW / C-D / wait, I've gathered some interesting outfits from Renderosity, have ear-marked some stuff from old down-loads. Okay, they're not haute couture, at best they're fantasy / anime, but that suits the surreal tale I'm trying to visualise...
If I have any success --I've not yet found best characters for P4F & P4M-- I'll post some piccies.
Just...
Please don't laugh ??

Nik we don't laugh at artist unless they are intended to be funny. You are at home here and everyone has and still are trying to reach a goal. Me included. So lets get out the Poser software and blow something up.

With all that you have got there I would think you would buy the others.
