I'm just a hobby user in the UK. With lots to learn. I come here to spend time with the good friends I made, and learn a trick or two. Unlike some places, the guys around here don't judge you - they're far too nice.
Also to appreciate that newer does not always mean better. I have spent money on newer, but spend a lot of time with the older (Poser, Daz, etc) models, with modest equipment and get some enjoyment, I could not fully with newer content, that would be beyond my finances. (latest content calls for latest software / hardware = lots of money = street walking). I can load new content, but it chokes, and stutters, anyway...
Here at PF, no one will slate you for using old - it's all the rage.

Hardware: HP NX9010 (Laptop), 2.8Ghz P4M, 895MB RAM, Ati Rad 345M 128MB. Running 32bit XP Pro. (3.06GHZ P4M CPU replacement to go in).
My little laptop is my Poser machine.
