About bump maps Tormie has been very clear. I think you are using
Poser 6, aren't you? if so you don't need to convert nothing at all.
I'm a Daz|Studio User, not now because I must reinstal W2000 in my old PC to fix a problem with my old Riva TNT2 video card, or untiel I get my new PC back, as you should knok D|S is useless without OpenGL.
I started with P4 ProPack, then my bother gave me P5, then I didn't like the material room) so mainly I used it because of it's library manipulation, a day I saw an skin shading done with P5 and then I started my test, now I'm in love with it and firefly, in september was my birthday and my broder gave me P6 (after a subtle request by me

) the true is I like it a lot, it has a lot of features that make easy and pleasant to work with it, the IBL is wonderful, not the Ambient Oclussion, it looks good but it's too much slow compared with the same feature in other renderers (carrara, Vue) that I use, the fast scater node is useless for me I mainly use raytraced shadows and it doesn't work with this kind of light, the wacro thing is great, I love the slider to compare the renders, it's faster than P5 even in my old PC with W2000, the cloth room that I love is much more acurate. The stock characters are really good.
I tested every verssion of D|S since it's beta, and I saw it get more and more useful for me in some ways, it's unbeatable for fast works, open in a breath, everything you load to it do it in a blink, the manipulation of the characters, objects, lights, etc; are by far much simple and better than in
Poser, the prewiew is simply fantastic, (of course with a good videocard) no need of endless test renders, I don't like much the posing proces but in D|S is much easy, magnets are better too, crate and load full body morphs have no comparison, the material selection and workflow is impecable, but the material panel is too much basic compared to
Poser 5/6 material room, in the animation field (I don't use animations) I think is limited compared with
Poser, but the posibility to render using the video hardware is stuning, an animation render is done almost in real time, the 3Delight is good and fast, but not much realistic IMO I think everything looks too much 3D.
I'm not shure if D|S will sometime beat
Poser, but I think e-frontier should consider some of the D|S small but useful features for next
Poser version; specially the manipulators for scaling moving and rotating.
I think there is coming a new competition too:

but by now
Poser is the king IMO by far.
