Post subject: Vertex Re-ordering...
Thank You !! I'll work through that tut when my eyes stop watering...

Um, I think the problem is vertex re-ordering, and just about every 3D app does it their own way...

Work-arounds include going via UV mapper etc etc

D'uh, at a pinch, I could *hand edit* original OBJ in Notepad...

Begs question of how to find the relevant vertex, but that's easier than it seems: If 3D app can load OBJ and tell me the co-ordinates of selected vertex, Notepad's FIND can locate that number...

Okay, my antihistamines have reduced sinus pain enough that I may sleep-- And should...

That's why I think Composer should do this job. With this tool you can save the vertex order to a file and reimport it to the obj after editing. Of course, it will not work if you change the vertex overall count...

Post subject: Unlikely Contender...
Um, an unlikely but effective contender for vertex twiddling is Anthony Appleyard's quirky 'Make Obj'.

http://www.kuroyumes-developmentzone.com/appleyard/3d/3d.htm

Instead of a swathe of general purpose tools that must be herded into compliance, it has a set of poser-modelling widgets...
