A Posette head on a V3 body, with or without remapping? Seems like there's one out there but can't recall where.

Hello Nance and welcome to Posetteforever !!

As long as I know there isn't a combination of V3 and Posette like that, the only thing I know it's a reshaped V3 to look like a Posette, but she's nearly of no use because she can't use the same morphs and they are not even portable with the tailor or similar programs (and above all she's not free )

I think that the original Posette's shape is the best

Thanks for the welcome guys. Been dropping in for a while but first post.

Changing topics completely: I've got some maps for the P4 bike shorts that I'd posted at R'osity long ago, but they've long since gotten buried there and this seems like a much better place to make them available. Was going to upload them but not sure which catagory to put them in. Any suggestions?

Hello, Nance and welcome to Posetteforever.

I would say that the best catagory for this texture is the one that is named "Texture maps for clothing".

For your origianl question, I don't know of such a hybrid model; however, there is a new Posette head and V2 body hybrid. Her name is Valeri P4, the details can be found here: http://posetteforever.com/viewtopic.php?t=1890

One that I would like to find is a Poser 4 Posette remapped to accept V3/M3/SP3 etc texture maps.

Pangor

I found a V3 head on a P4 Posette body with a V1/2 UV mapping. Also a Stephanie head on a P4 Posette body usning the V1/V2 mapping. There is also a non-posette combiniation at that site. http://www.ebonshire.net/freebies/guest3.php

I agree with pangor, a lot of us just like the original Posette's shape but would try some different textures on her like the ones for V3. Pitklad's Nea is a Posette who accepts V2 textures, but actually there isn't a Posette who accet V3 or Cindy textures.

"Texture maps for clothing" Well that makes sense - DOOH! Didn't see that at first glance.

Off to a fine start here as a major nubie dufus. Uploaded cutoffs zip file -- but forgot to add the thumbnail pictured above. Suggestions on how to add/replace/fix?

Thanks for the link to the P4/V2 hybrid, going to check it out, and I too would love to see a Posette remapped to accept V3 maps.

Stahlratte is planning a V3 body/Nea head hybrid which would accept V2 textures

Also you can convert V3 textures to V2 with Universal Texture Converter which is not free...

Thanks folks! Passed along the suggestions to a member who was looking over at 3DCommune.

The NEAena/UTConverter suggestion seems workable. Thanks PitKlad - and although I know it's considerably more difficult than the remapping for V2, as long as I have your attention, it kinda sounds like a NEA version that would accept V3 maps might be pretty popular as well. (hint-hint-nudge-nudge)

It is not free many times over, beside purchasing a copy of the UTC you also need to purchase addons for the models you want to use it with.

Besides, it would be nice to create one texture and be able to offer it for use on Posettes as well at the others. At the moment it is possible to create a single textures map and have it work on V3, SP3, Laura YT, Laura PT, Maddie, A3, The GIRL, MDP F202, Mayadoll, M3, D3 H3, Luke YT, Luke PT, and Matt. I it would be nice to be able to show what Posettes can do with the same textures. I know that some of those are Guy too. I have used V3 textures on M3, Textures without makeup that is.

For varity of characters I like the sound of Stahlratte's plan.

magically appeared?

I guess that fits, Posy, did inform us not too long ago that I am a god from Ancient Eqypt. and my avatars are of a warrior mage. Except for a certain other avatar that I was using for a while last year, the one of me as a penguin, but that was a different story.

If I had UV mapper 3 I would definatelly do a V3 version of NEA however with my UV mapper 2 this would take me way too much time,I only remmaped the head of Nea and it took me the most time on the whole project!
(ok I am a bit perfectionist... )
Remmaping is the less creative part of all my projects and needs good nerves and tention, many many test renders and much work by hand... Simeon is still a WIP because of that...
So unless someone makes me a UV mapper 3 gift I don't plan a Nea/V3

I have UV mapper v3, so after the links project is done, perhaps I can lend a hand. Will have to learn the program as I go, but hey what else is new. I'm still learning how to use Poser Just point me in the right direction and push.

Pitklad was so nice to help me to remap the hew necks of my three Valeri hybrids.
Valeri-V3 should be finished soon, and here is a little teaser:

[img:12c990ce3a]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y158/fairywilde/Hybrids/Valeri17.jpg[/img:12c990ce3a]
[img:12c990ce3a]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y158/fairywilde/Hybrids/Valeri18.jpg[/img:12c990ce3a]

She´s made from NEA´s head and V-3´s body.
She takes V-2 maps and I regrouped her so that V2 MATs will work, so you can change textures with one click.

stahlratte

A Posette based head, and V3 body, and V1/2 mapping. Interesting and she will be very useful. Will the regular V3 body morphs pack work with her?
stahlratte [ Wednesday, 22 February 2006, 03:37 PM ]
Post subject: Re: Looking for a Frankensteined Posette-V3?
Yes, all V3 bodymorphs work.
The neck is neither NEA nor V3 geometry, so if you really alter V3´s bodyshape, you might have to make a custom morph with magnets to better blend it in.

But it´s prety flexible as is, and most times you can get by with no extra morphs at all.

I wouldn´t mind a V3 mapped Posette or NEA, too.

BUT there is a problem, and that is the DAZ EULA.
V2 mapping is "free", so you can use it for other meshes, but V3 mapping is not.

So if you remap Posette to V3, she becomes a derivate work, and you have to encode her with V3 being the key, even if she contains no V3 mesh.

According to the V3 EULA, you are not allowed to copy V3´s mapping, her shape, and her joint setup.
At least not without encoding the new figure.

stahlratte

PitKlad,

When you are ready for UVmapping assistance, I am ready to help. At the moment I am learning Bryce and can put that aside anytime. Since my first post on this topic, I have worked a little with UMMapper, creating and adjusting a map, so am starting to get familiar with the interface. To clarify, I do have the pro version. Post here and/or PM when ready.
