I hate Poser Pros <img src="https://www.posetteforever.com/images/smiles/eusa_doh.gif" alt="" /> I posted a render that took me more then just a few hours to do. I never got a comment posted before it sunk to the second page. It's not a community over there, it's a dam meet market! <br /> <br /> end of rant <img src="https://www.posetteforever.com/images/smiles/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

If you don't suck up to others, you won't be getting any comments over there. I've noticed that as of late, since I haven't really found anything to comment on that I haven't seen a million times before, and I hardly get any comments myself. <br /> If I do comment on peoples work, then I tend to get more replies myself. <br /> It varies of course, sometimes I don't get replies when I comment, and other times I do get replies even if I haven't commented.. <br /> But yeah, it's turned into a big market over there. You don't sell anything, you're not worthy attention.

I was not there for a long while, I use only to post there my pictures. In this period I have enough time to watch the galleries only once a week or two, so I prefer to comment the pictures here <img src="https://www.posetteforever.com/images/smiles/heartbeat.gif" alt="" /> first. When I post something on renderosity I get comments from my little group of fans who have me in their favourite's artist list... I don't know what's happeing there, but I suppose that much is due to the summer period... PoserPros, Renderosity and other places ARE markets with a forum and a gallery, you're supposed to know it...

It is summer here and people are out sunning.Me included not to mention moving around.So I think when winter comes here it will get better in America as far as that is concerned.As for people, well they are to stuck on themselves there.They think the name Poser Pro makes them a pro.All I know is Pro means one thing.It means you do it for a living and make money out of it.You can also produce shit and still be a pro. <img src="https://www.posetteforever.com/images/smiles/eusa_think.gif" alt="" />

It has nothing to do with summer. <br /> There is a totally different group of people over at PoserPros, lately. <br /> It is about the people and their mentality. <br /> <br /> The people there are only interested in fashion, textures, portraits, fantasy <br /> and what others think of the store products or product WIPs. <br /> <br /> Ken is more or less right. <br /> If you aren't a merchant, you won't get much attention for the most part. <br /> <br /> I won't kiss anybody's ass for views or comments, anywhere...

When I first started visiting forums, and particularly PP, WheelChair, I was universally ignored by all. Then I started commenting on everything, joining every thread, etc, etc... suddenly I was everybody's friend. My comments in the threads weren't simply ignored as before, and anything I posted garnered a few comments and a respectable amount of hits. <br /> <br /> But that grows tiresome after a while. Just like being part of the 'in crowd' does at school. Too much work for the end result. So I just visit the gallery when I can find the time, comment on what I like and leave the rest. I haven't even visited there for a good few weeks. <br /> <br /> That's why I hang around here... lets all go to the bar and sing... 'We need a place where we can go, where everyone knows your name..' <img src="https://www.posetteforever.com/images/smiles/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> Grab your drink, Cheers!

Just another thought. A few months back I remember a hugh exodus from Renderosity and all these people joining PP and anouncing themselves as ex'rosity members. <br /> <br /> I'd say the changed mix of members might have something to do with it as well <img src="https://www.posetteforever.com/images/smiles/eusa_think.gif" alt="" />

There are a few people over at PP that'll comment on your work because it's good, and not because of how you comment. <br /> But I suppose you can come off as an elitist if you only post your work and don't comment at all (all post and no commenting would mean alot of pics without any replies <img src="https://www.posetteforever.com/images/smiles/eusa_boohoo.gif" alt="" /> ) <br /> <br /> I don't think I've commented on a single picture on 'Rosity though. I do however get a decent amount of replies on most of my work, which I prefer since they comment due to my skills and not after how much I've commented on other works. <br /> <br /> If people don't comment on my work just because I don't comment on theirs, then I don't want their comments anyway..

You've hit the nail on the head, Ken ! <br /> People should comment because they like what they see, or get something out of what they see. <br /> Most of the time, I try to be polite and reply to images because they are new people or other <br /> reasons. <br /> I didn't get the number of posts over at PP's from replying only to my own stuff. <br /> With nothing in my gallery, I have over 750 posts. <br /> <br /> My posts are somewhat bizarre and original in content, so sometimes I get a few comments. <br /> I still have to humiliate many "artists" with a few more Connie's Poser 101, before I bail out. <br /> After that, few people will have any use for me and I could care less.

I think that there is no hope for the world because of these people, they outnumber the "thinking" people. pbnj: <br /> I agree that people tend to treat Poser characters as dress up dolls. <br /> It shows in the images and reflects the lack of creativity when a character <br /> looks like a moulded toy with minimal joint movement. <br /> Most characters look too stiff to me and are void of expression. <br /> <br /> You are quite good at what you produce for Sara as well. <br /> I have the original Sara, but don't really care for Sara II. I got in on this thread late, but I believe you have all summed it up great. I know I've been wondering what is going on at pp's for awhile now. I thought it was just me but when I was going though my health issues with my hands and wasn't able to type much, which means hardly any comments by me were posted on all my sites, and about that same time I noticed that the comments to my artwork posted on pp's site started to drop off as well. Hmm...I think to myself is there a link between me not being able to make comments and so now I'm not getting any either? lol Oh well, I know where and who my friends are, and like you all said, if I have to comment my fingers to the bone just so others will comment on my work, it's not worth the effort. I'm with you GP, I've a very big "favourite's artist" page made of people who commented my pictures, but I like only few of them, because of that big list, I had a lot of emails every day saying that there was a new picture to see. Little by little all those posts stressed me and I began to stop watching pictures. Now I've to start choosing only what I like and comment only those pictures, or I will see nothing at all also here ! Don't worry about when, where and to whom you make comments, Davide. <br /> We all have noticed the absence of certain individuals from the galleries. <br /> They come by when they can and that is fine with everyone, that I am sure. <br /> <br /> The commercial sites are destroying 3D art and that is indicative of the responses <br /> (comments and views) that some of us have been getting. <br /> <br /> If it means making comments to images that have nothing to offer, just for the <br /> sake of people to look and comment at your own efforts, then it is time to step away. <br /> All that I can say is that I have proved that you do not need commercial <br /> products to make people want to see your efforts. <br /> <br /> Over two years, I developed a style and content that was copied, but never equalled. <br /> I made people laugh and want to look at my P4 characters that some, over time, knew as well as I did. <br /> That was better than any amount of views or comments could ever achieve. <br /> I made a connection with some of my readers and that is something that I will always remember. <br /> Now comes the difficult part... <br /> They will all figure it out in time.
