My hard disk just crashed, last week, and took away everything I held dear (including Nea, Posette V3...everything!) What's worse is my assigments which are due next week are also eaten by the boogeyman .All of the things I collected for like, 3 years...

I don't really know what the prob is...first i was just downloading a really large pic,(like 3000x3000) then when i tried to view it everything sorta...hanged...frozen....and win xp spouted messages like "cannot load [the name of a .dll]" or "[thread name] abruptly stopped" and finally Blue Screen!
Then it got worse, windows sorta couldn't read or save files into the main HDD (I assumed I/O error, but subsequent checks confirmed negative!) such as system32 etc. The last straw is when windows cant be loaded altogether. My dad was so furious....he had to cut my allowance to repair damages. Do you all know what prob that was?

Now I'm restocking all my fav characters and morphs...but I can't remember where I got them

can y'all please help me find these?

Litomo (posette character)
ghd's Romy
Mayadoll
digitalbabes (kozaburo's hair)
the website with a lot of (100+) posette textures
Art-RO website
stylo3d
royloo or something (that motoko kusanagi character...)

I think for the rest, I'll just google em...thanks for viewing

Do you still have the damaged HD ? However your daddy overreacted, it can't be your fault but a simple HD failure, Hard Disks are not forever, they have a life span, they can work for three years or more but if you don't change them, sooner or later they'll break like a car would break after a lot of kilometers (well... Life is the same ). If your daddy said that it was your fault, he is wrong.

I PMed you a possible solution if you want to try to save something from the damaged HD, meanwhile I'll search what I have of your lost precious things...

http://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/

That gets you most of the links...

Um, you'll need to ask for 'lost password' ??

If it is 'classic' P4 stuff, I've probably got original zips...

Thanks for the links! Just went to Kozaburo's and DpH's for stuff..........

this weekend I shall wearily trudge (again) through all the R'osity freestuffs...

Tormie, the cd you sent me was useful, it got so many programs that could solve 90% of the PC troubles that my friends in university would have

but sadly, my HDD's prob seems to be a hardware error (I/O error message, can't be detected during Boot)...there's no way I can resurrect it unless i send it to the PC shop for repairs. I sorta lost the warranty for it since the last 3 years I used it

The good news is, I used most of the softwares to help other people, especially HijackThis (my university's main problems in internet usage are Trojans, viruses, spywares etc esp from the hackers from China and Indonesia.)

....or anyone has another theory on what my prob is?

In this case, trying to recover the data is possible but it will cost you a lot, so better to buy a new one and discard it. If I would have very precious data on it I would have bought a similar model, maybe used on ebay and I would have tried to change the board, it's not so difficult but one can't know what will be the results

About virus and trojans, you need a very good antivirus, my bro at uni finds a lot of viruses when one of his friends plugs in a storage key in his notebook...
