Post subject: BIG Changes... And you've been promoted...
PART 1

I just finished to make a lot of changes on the site: you may have already read the other message I wrote today, I simply decided to shorten the time.
I uninstalled the approval system, it was no more working properly with the changes that I made in order for Posetteforever to be more "search bots friendly" and it was too much unfriendly to new "genuine" posting users, so you won't receive any longer the PM for approval a post or an user. I've also changed the activation method for new users, now it's automatic again, with the email and the activation code to be clicked in it.
I did these changes because I trust the new code that I installed, you already know that now known spammers are blocked by IP out of the door of the site thanks to "Project Honey Pot" check, and that we are helping that project with some "boopy traps" (the honey pots) hidden on each page of the site, invisible to humans (Posy can see them ).
Today I made a further step: I installed another antispam piece of code, what does this code is :
- New users can't post links untill they wrote at least 5 posts and are member for at least 30 days.
- The code will check strictly what is written for forbidden words, ip addresses, links and email addresses using an internal database and also a central database on another site, if something matches, the post goes in "approval mode" and an email will be sent to me (unfortunately this function actually is reserved only to administrators)
- The user can ask to be added to a special group (I called it "parrots" ) before it reaches 5 posts or 30 days, it is intended for trusted users, for example they try to post a link but the site will write back that it's not possible for them and give them a link to ask the subscription to the parrots group to do so instead.

All the other users are considered "trusted" (after 5 posts and 30 days on the site) and won't be checked. If you want to try I'll set up for some days a fake user:

name "dummy"
password "1234"

You can try to add a link to a post or to write something like "porn" or "viagra"...

Note that the site will be a little slow when these users try to post because of the checks.

PART 2

You've been promoted to the rank of "Junior Admin" , why and what it means?

All these countermeasures are not enough to keep "all" offending users out of the site so you may sight one of them making some disaster on the site and you can simply do nothing: for example this user could go to the album and write bad words or do something similar. You can't ban it because the red buttons appears only over the posts that an users has written, but if they write nothing you have no way to ban them. Or you see that the site is being hacked ("I Love NYC") and you can do nothing. So I gave you access to some pages of the administration panel so that you can ban an user directly and you can even shut off the site if the place is burning. Well friends, even if there is nothing there that i can't reverse it's all in the trust that I have for you.

Here are the instructions:

Look at the last picture (immagine3.jpg), at the bottom of the site an ACP (admin control panel) link has appeared, it has a double security system, you'll be prompted for an username and a password that are:

name "emergency"
password "superfart"

Then again another prompt with your usual username and password (the same that you use to connect to the site) I ask you not to flag the "remember password" on the new (the first) prompt, if you've a virus on the PC the password can be shared to the wrong hands...

Now you've some options on the left side: if you click "users" and then "bantron" you go to a page where you can directly ban an user, look at picture 2 (immagine2.jpg) you can paste the username to ban in the box pointed by the arrow, click submit and the user is banned. You may ask why there are not banned users there while I banned some: I simply made those accounts unaccessible changing the access data.
(and no, I can't be banned )

if you click "configuration" and then "server" you go to a page where you can disable the board, look where the arrow point and you can select "yes" and then click "submit" and the board will be disabled. You can even write the reason why in the box below.

Again, You should know that you don't have to play with the other values there, or you can damage the site. As I said I can reverse the mess but I'll cut your throat .

I added some other modules for fun, the "acronysm" and "autolinks", they are quite the same, in the first one you can add an acronym and the description, when someone will write that acronym on the site when the mouse passes over the word the description will appear.

the Autolink is quite the same, but the Keyword will be changed with the text and become a clickable link that goes to the url, when the mouse passes over the word the description appear.

I think to have written all, I hope that all this sweat will be useful to keep bad people out of the site and to have some more good friends

This solution has been uneffective when the site was in need, so it has been suspended
