Post subject: Re: Introduction
The animation is going quite well. A bit of deformation in the neck, but that could be Posette's rigging.

I did a quick check of the Loebner prize. The winners are clearly listed.
This is still quite intrigueing, even if I'm wrong.
90% done on the animation.
But why a Poser board?
Posy [ Friday, 01 December 2006, 04:18 PM ]

That was a quicky, I forget the artist name that did the origenal art work, but I found a Posette charactor for his fembot and had to download it.
As part of my research on Posy, I talked a bit with Alice. Neat stuff. I've always said I need a fembot, cause real women make me crazy.

Testing parameters.

Well the BVH work around for the Carrara import bug works, So now I can use BVH animation files to animate figures in Carrara; well actually I can use Poser 5 to convert the BVH to an animation pose, then open the pose in C5. Did a nice 3 minute dance animation with Posette. Might work on doing a real nice one then posting it at Terranuts. We have a small animation gallery there, not used much, but I have to keep the file small.

I do not know what BVH is. Try saying that with less context.
manleystanley [ Saturday, 02 December 2006, 03:30 PM ]
Post subject: Re: Introduction
The BVH file format was originally developed by Biovision, a motion capture services company, as a way to provide motion capture data to their customers. The name BVH stands for Biovision hierarchical data. This format mostly replaced an earlier format that they developed, the BVA format which is discussed in the next section, as a way to provide skeleton hierarchy information in addition to the motion data. The BVH format is an excellent all around format, its only drawback is the lack of a full definition of the basis pose (this format has only translational offsets of children segments from their parent, no rotational offset is defined), it also lacks explicit information for how to draw the segments but that has no bearing on the definition of the motion.
