Post subject: Two Hips, One Dork
Does anybody remember how to transfer a morph target from Dork (P4NM) with gentials off hip to Dork with genitals on hip? Cuz I don't remember anymore.

The figure uses two separate hips, which are toggled automatically in-program by the genital switch. Because they're separate hip models, morphs applied to one don't exist in the other.

I was looking at an old figure by Jon Malis called 'Cave Troll' and it has some nice morphs for a chubby belly on the abdomen and hip, but the hip part is only with genitals off, and the adomen morph looks dumb by itself without the hip part.

I can transfer the morph in Morphmanager, but of course it only copies to the non-genital hip (signified in Morph Manager by the 'Hiddden=1' parameter). Alternately, if I try to export the morph as obj target, when attempting to reload it back in and onto the genital hip fails with 'target has wrong number of vertices' error.

I'll say it's not a serious problem, as I was quickly able to recreate the desired effect on the gen-type hip using a magnet. However, I'm thinking there is a way to directly transfer morphs between the two hip versions by editing the CR2 or something like that, but I don't recall anymore.

Hi Endosphere
I'm afraid, it never worked, AFIK. The nogen hip and the gen hip without the genitals (these are a separate mesh and body part) have a different geometrical structure, I think even different polycount. I tried exporting a morph from the nogen hip as a morphtarget obj, and re-imported it with the gen switch on. The dial showed, but had no function...
Even if you could get it working, you'd need a separate morph to make the genitals fit.
I'm sorry to say, I have no idea.
Good luck anyway.

Thanks for trying. I ended up using a magnet, and since the polygons affected are huge and few, making the morph myself with a magnet only took five minutes, so it wasn't the end of the world.

What a crazy thing to have a problem over, anyway. Dork is still blushing about all this controversy over his private parts. The maker of the original old character must have thought the cave troll was too ugly for anyone to turn the genitals on.

The genitals setting in Poser only work globally for all chars in one scene. Can lead to odd situations anyway

As illustration of what was discussed here:

A) Default P4 Nude Man

B) Cave Troll character by John Malis, which is simply P4NM morphed. The character was a freebie in the late 1990s, along with half a dozen other such fantasy characters by Malis. From the same set I also have an orc dude and lady, a dwarf dude and lady, a lady elf archer, a male hero, and a lady viking. I can't decipher from the documentation whether they can be re-shared, otherwise I would upload them all here. All the docs with the figures simply say 'This character can be used freely in all your personal work (please give appropriate credit when possible). For any commercial use you will need to contact me.' Whatever that means, I don't know.

C) The default P4NM I use regularly, which is to say, how I modified him myself over time

D) The usual belly of character C

E) Character C with the abdomen and hip morphs discussed here applied at a moderate setting, which further increases the goodness of the figure in my opinion

I remember there were some copyright issues with some of John's Characters. This was why his site went down, if I remember correctly. So sharing his characters could be risky
