I have questions if you are concerning windows 10. ----------------------------------- Chromium Friday, 29 March 2019, 05:42 PM Re: Might Be A Long Shot But... ----------------------------------- From memory, I think member Poser - User, is using Poser Pro (P4), for his animation work, I can't confirm his OS however. Maybe a PM to him might nudge him to respond. ----------------------------------- ahjah Friday, 29 March 2019, 06:22 PM Re: Might Be A Long Shot But... ----------------------------------- Hi Kraizydo :hi: I never used Poser4, Started with P3, and went forward to P6/7 skipping the versions in between and I am on Win7. But if you specify the issue, maybe we can help anyway. ----------------------------------- Kraizydo Monday, 01 April 2019, 01:37 PM Re: Might Be A Long Shot But... ----------------------------------- So my issue is that windows 7 is going to be discontinued in 2020. Knowing this I loaded my version of Poser Pro 4 on a windows 10 PC. It didn't go well. It wouldn't make any animation videos when it worked but also crashed a lot. I tried changing the compatibility to Windows XP SP2 (this is what made it work on Win7) but that didn't work either. If anyone might have a solution or a work around i would really appreciate it. I know I can update my version of Poser and my current figures will work but this is all just a hobby and the price on some of these new versions aren't affordable for just a hobby. REALLY would love some help. Thanks in advance! ----------------------------------- Chromium Monday, 01 April 2019, 04:23 PM Re: Might Be A Long Shot But... ----------------------------------- My first approach would be to pick up a cheap old laptop, and set it up with W7, and add Poser4. Pretty much any low end 32/64bit will be fine. My norm is this approach for my Poser6/9. My next approach would be to get an external USB HD, and set the PC to boot from there in hierarchy order if it's plugged in. Then install W7, and Poser4 on it. Then whenever I want Poser4, I'd just plug it in and power up. FYI, my favourite 64bit OS is XP 64, I still use it, online, and offline. ----------------------------------- ahjah Monday, 01 April 2019, 09:38 PM Re: Might Be A Long Shot But... ----------------------------------- Hi Kraizydo First thing coming to my mind, you shouldn't install Poser to the default path (Program Files), but directly to root, i.e. C:\Metacreations\... Second you might need to install DirectX9 (still available at MS AFAIK). The animation function might not like the DX11 (?) on Win10. It's not completely downwards compatible. Also you might need some of the older video codecs. That's just my ideas. If it worked on Win7 64 it should be possible to get it working on Win10 ----------------------------------- Kraizydo Thursday, 25 April 2019, 01:14 PM Re: Might Be A Long Shot But... ----------------------------------- [quote user="ahjah" post="45283"]Hi Kraizydo First thing coming to my mind, you shouldn't install Poser to the default path (Program Files), but directly to root, i.e. C:\Metacreations\...
