It is a first for me. I built this entire suit of armor and turned the P4 male character into the Transformer Pretender Classics Grimlock! I haven't quite finished it yet and it's still very rough. Once I get it completely built, I can then go back and start tweaking it over a long period of time until it looks right. The Poser male characters are pretty well done. I like P6 James best, but he does not have much, although the old P3 Dork,is growing on me (hey I only just moved up from P2 Default Guy), I never got into the P1 Zombie male/female. Now, don't stretch the Terminator analogy too far. I mostly know the Pretenders from some old Marvel comics, and their apparitions in one of the Japanese Transformers cartoon series (Masterforce). In MArvel they were like I have said, like the organic covering in Terminator, and shrinking devices to fit inside, tehy removed the armors and looked like normal humans. In the JApanese cartoon, it was handled more like the Power Rangers (or Super Sentai, if you prefer the original version) transform, with the added thing taht the Pretenders in Japanese continuity are all Headmasters (meaning that once that they are in robot mode, they are still human size, and transform into the head of the Transformer). ----------------------------------- P4luvr Monday, 19 December 2011, 04:18 AM Re: New Project ----------------------------------- Here is another view of the back. My computer is too slow to handle sculpt mode at even two or three levels of multires so I can't finish the shoulder piece or the hands the way I want. Also, his gun is black so I can't see it in the reference pictures good enough to model it. But I'm pretty much finished with this and I'm working on some other projects. I have the Blender default material on it with just the colors changed. I've been experimenting with a weathered metal material but I am not satisfied with the result. If anyone has any ideas for a weathered metal material let me know. I'm looking for a shiny, but battle-damaged look. I am done with the pre-tweaking stage. Now I'll have to spend time going through Blender tutorials to get better at modelling and then maybe I'll come back and finish this off.
