There seems to be a problem with either Poser or me working the model robot. When I save it into PZ 3 then it comes back in one piece. When I save it in Poser in the Character File then it comes back with things missing and meshes torn. So the only way to get it is to bring it in from the outside of Poser. Anybody have any idea what is happening here? I am loading it up as a PZ 3 File and pray you guys get a put together Robot.

I had similar problems with some elaborate character, I don't know what it is but it was not a big problem for me becasue I was not intended to share the work, in your case it's different, we have to work on it

Hi ahjah. Just sent it to Davide as of last night. He is going to make a conversion to make it legal to use. There are no morph targets to the face because of the mess up in the set up room with the bone configuration. The set up has added the targets but it is the mesh and numbers like for instance (Mesh_72) is in fact the white of her eyes instead of the L or R eye. So it is the mesh that hold the true targets to get it all working. If you can fix it let me know what you did. Davide , ahjah wants in on our little project and this would be a great time to see what we can do with her. For the first time we have an original PosetteForever model robot girl. This is kewl!

Just recieved the file, and the first thing I found out is the obj doesn't have any grouping information at all
I'll try some "reverse engineering", but not tonight. Gotta get up early

Why do you have to do it?

Well, Posy, maybe I can save some grouping information by re exporting the obj from the pz3...

Interesting. That's good information: ahjah said I maybe you can save some grouping information by re exporting the obj from the pz3.

Post subject: Re: Cr2 File damaging problems
I managed getting an obj file with grouping information
The groups have completely different names, than the bodyparts in the pz3/cr2
and the materials don't match either.
I can save a char file from her, but it doesn't load again and I have to shoot Poser to stop it
Looks as if we need to re-rigg her the old fashioned way to work properly as a cr2.
The first step I'll do is restoring the original bodypart and material names of the Posette part of Futura.
The next step could be grouping the robot applications at the joints and the headgear to the bodyparts they belong to. I'd rather do this using UV mapper. At this state we should also clean up the materials a bit. I don't think we need ~90 .
An empty Posette cr2 should work on this obj with a little hacking and with a little luck the eyes will work again. The simplest way to handle the robot arm would be detaching it from the obj and making it a separate cr2, parented to Futura. Rigging this alone should be not too complicated for most of the joints don't even need bending zones...
Tell me what you think

I didn't do this kind of stuff before, but I can only learn by trying it
Hoping, the mad scientists get some support by the mad mechanics (Whazizname?...). Well, she's a robot, don't this make her a bit similar to a ... car!?
