What's a cookie ? A cookie keep track of who you are when you're surfing the site, it write some lines of code on you PC. If your cookies are correctly working, somewhere on you PC (in a Window$ Xp/Nt system they are in C:Documents and Settings(your account)Cookies) there is a file like this:

tormentor@posetteforever[1].txt

(the first part has your own username, not "tormentor")

Sometimes the cookie doesn't work, the reasons can be a lot, but the solutions are simple:

(referred to a Window$ system)

0-(new!) Use this link:
http://posetteforever.com/mycookies.php

and choose to delete all cookies, reload the page just to be sure that all the evil cookies are gone, if not click the button again. Then go to the site and login again. Hopefully you won't have more cookies problems till next time....

Go there and choose to dete the cookies: reload again the page just to be sure that there are no cookies, then login to the site and go to the album. Hopefully you won't have more problems...

1- Login in the site, then click the "logout" button on the top of the page, the login again. This procedure should delete the broken cookie and write a fresh, new, working one.

2- Number "1" doesn't work ... Go where the cookies are written (see above) and delete manually all files that refers to posetteforever, then login to the site...

3- Number "1" and "2" don't work :crybaby:...
Redo the number "2" then if you are in a Windows Xp system close all the browser's windows and go to:

C:Documents and Settings(your account)Local SettingsTemporary Internet Files

and here select the files with "posetteforever" in the name, right click the mouse and select to delete them... Login again in the site...

4- Number "1", "2", "3" don't work: Go to the Setting of your browser and check if the cookies are enabled or if you have a cookie stopper, ad killer program check its settings.

How you can know that the cookies aren't correctly working ? It's simple, it happens when:

You come to posetteforever and it asks you to login, maybe not all the times, but sometimes...

When you log in in the browser's address windows the link is followed by a "sid_" with a lot of strange characters after it like this one:

Code: [Download] [Hide]

Code: [Download] [Show]

http://posetteforever.com/index.php?sid=45da81a6c00327668639ab6f5946xxxy

It means that the site couldn't save the cookie on you pc and is keeping track of who you are using a "session id" system instead of cookies.

The session id is that serie of character that are the same on each page that you open, so the system know who you are. When you go away from the site you'll have to login again...

At last if you see the session id attached to a site's link it means that you've cookies problems: better to investigate it on your system...

There is one exception: all the links in the "Navigation Menu" on the left part of the main page actually append the session id on the page that you clicked every time, it is due to the program that generates the navigation menu, it forces ti append the session id and it means not cookie problem...

Actually I'm working to the automatic append of the session id on all the links of the site so (hopefully...) you'll never log out surfing the site...

If you've something to add to this little tutorial, please write it and if I wrote something wrong tell it in the thread...

You know that my english is very bad, so if I made a mess (as usual) I dare the admins to edit this message and correct what's wrong

You forgot numbers 5, 6 & 7....

5. When your machine has cookies, take the cover off and put a glass of milk inside...
if that doesn't work goto 6.
6. put more cookies in the machine, preferably chocolate chip (I hear chips are good for computers and store lots of stuff!!)
if that doesn't work goto 8.
8. Take your computer into the computer repair place and blame cookie and milk mess on the dog and or child...

My AdAware 2007 steals your cookie...

I tell it otherwise, but it forgets each time it updates the watch-list...

Of course, compared to my paranoid firewall, a mildly kleptomaniac anti-ad-ware util is almost amusing...
