Well I downloaded Anim80r the other day, as did my boyfriend, and after spending while trying to figure it out I came to the conclusion that it needed to be stomped on and burned and it's just plain evil like all the other 3d modeling software I've looked at and tried to understand. My Boyfriend gave it a bit more of a go and even tried to follow the tut's for it, he still couldn't get it to do a thing. I mean we couldn't even make anything. So my 14 year old (wildchild) asks what we are talking about. I tell him, he downloads the software and the little butthead is now making things!!!! Not great things, but heck he's got something on the screen and even colors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm posting the object he made last night, like I said it's not much but for a kid in his first hour of playing with it I'm impressed

I guess now he will have to tutor my bf and I on how to do it...geesh I hate giving that kid a swelled head!

You're becoming a little ancient GP !

It looks like we'll have a new 3d artist ! I see for him a lightful future, a lot of models sold, a lot of money earned (and finally GTA 4 -Vice City in the cdrom drive...)

Well done... proud mum

I've tried to persevere with anim8or for a while, but can't find the time to learn it to any useful degree. It's a great little package.

Nice work, Wildchild

Tell wild child...Welcome to the 3D world
There really are people out there who like to do this to noobs and beginners

I was kidding...
This was my first "BIG", detailed model. Actually, my first Anim8or model
was the "How To Make A Hand" Tutorial, back in May 2002. After that I made small, simple props. The steam engine was made in November, 2002.

Tormentor never made that in Anim8or. He's full of it, right up to his brown eyes.

If this was made in Anim8or and rendered in Poser, I know what types
of problems you would get. You must have another piece of software to overcome what Anim8or cannot do and what the Poser rendering engine does
to 3D objects other than human forms.

OK Tormentor, how many polygons does that ship have and in what format was it saved in ?

I just made this desktop
I'm sure there is some sort of copywrite infringment but I looked all over the internet for one and I just couldn't find one like it......

Oh well

Dear Den, I simply didn't want to humiliate[/color:6d6cf427d5] you too much .
It is in .pp2 format and actually I can't count how many polys it has. I have not installed anim8or (and all other programs like 3d studio and lightwave, I'm an expert) anymore because of my well known virus problems but I can assure you that they are a lot [/color:6d6cf427d5], and that tonight I will reinstall all things. As I said it was only my half-forbidden very first anim8or work, actually I'm working on a more complex project (I called it "the matrix"), leaving this easy works for little kids .

Here you can see the same model, obviously rendered in Poser (Posy is on it saluting you). I can assure you that if you practice a little more with this piece of software the problems you noticed ( :? ) will disappear.

Actually I've not so much time to play with anim8or because I'm finishing a little program for calculating the orbit of the planet travelling around pulsar PSR 0329+54. I think to go to Stockholm this winter to take the right prize for this work.

( I suppose that now Dennis Tracy is eating his mouse full of envy and foaming with rage )

Okay I don't know how deep it's getting in here or if I should even bother to put on my thigh high boots and attemtp to wade in, but if you both did these pictures in Anim8or then I'm duely impressed!! Wildchild now has inspriation to try and do better as well

Tormentor:

I'm talking about Anim8or, not 3D Studio Max, Maya, Rhino or AutoCad or anything else.

I know that you make models in 3D Studio Max and my stuff is crap compared to what 3DSMax can do.

Why would you think that you would humiliate me ?
I only make cartoon type models.

Hey Den!

It was all a joke, I never made a model with a 3d program .

I just want to see how much time is needed to make you really incazzato (hulk)

Do you (all) have really believed I was able to make such a ship ?

Tormentor, Tormentor, Tormentor....
HULK mode ??????????? Nope

I will get in contact with the NSA and INTERPOL and find out everything there is to know about you "while you soundly sleep"...

Don't pay any attention to those men in cars looking like Secret Service agents or the ones riding on your bus.

Besides, how do we know what anyone here is capable of doing ...unless we either tell you or show you.

Calculating the orbit of a planet around a pulsar, eh ?
Don't waste your time... the radiation from the pulsar has killed all life for hundreds of light years...

The only thing you'll be calculating is how many times the turd circles in your
toilet bowl before disappearing...Yeah, that's it !

Dear Den... You're *not* telling us that you *really* believed I made that ship

Anyway... I really calculate that orbit...

No problems with my turds, If they don't go away after an extra push it means that I'm not able to kill them and they deserve to live. If you'll receive a little colourful package from italy it will not contain wine or candies ( even if one could *try* to eat it, but if I was not able to kill it it's difficult for everyone else )
