I have edited the inital post of this topic, to correct some typos, and added links to works cited, and correct a major error of omission from the incident of the injury that began the process that lead me to using Pangor as my pen name and username.

Pangor

It depends on what the meaning of the word "it" is.
Anonymous [ Tuesday, 23 August 2005, 07:34 PM ]
Post subject:
Posy, The meaning of "it" is:

It It (i^t), pron. OE. it, hit, AS. hit; cf. D. het.
root181. See He.
The neuter pronoun of the third person, corresponding to the
masculine pronoun he and the feminine she, and having the
same plural (they, their or theirs, them).
1913 Webster

Note: The possessive form its is modern, being rarely found
in the writings of Shakespeare and Milton, and not at
all in the original King James's version of the Bible.
During the transition from the regular his to the
anomalous its, it was to some extent employed in the
possessive without the case ending. See His, and
He. In Dryden's time its had become quite established
as the regular form.
1913 Webster

Pangor

Ozymandias Jones [ Tuesday, 06 September 2005, 04:54 AM ]
Post subject: Re: The source of our usernames.
I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: "Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
'My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!'
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

[i:a714c00a19]Percy Bysshe Shelley[/i:a714c00a19]

Ozymandias came from this poem. It's a early 1800th century miss-translation of the name Pharaoh Ramses II. I have always liked the poetic and grand nature of the name. It actually sounds like an ancient and powerful king.

I have been a Ancient Egypt nut ever since I could read as a boy and have visited there a couple of times and spent a few months in Egypt over the years. I just love the romance of Dynastic Egypt.

Jones... well that's my name. Not many of us Jones's around now-a-days, you know

Ozymandias Jones has become my pen name when I'm writing on the net. Many of my sotries are of an Adult nature, or contain adult themes and I use the Ozy pen name to set them apart from the more main stream stuff.

So there you go...

Well, I am DarkAngel and depending on whom you shall speak to is whether you get I am the angel of mercy, giving or death....and because I love angelic images, fairy images and collect angels.

I have been called each one, and the last one is the one they refer to when they end up in the hospital...they all say don't let her come visit me cause everytime she visits someone they usually end up dying. I guess they don't factor in the idea that the person was gravely sick to begin with and it was a coincidence that I was the one they decided to leave after visiting...and I don't mean right away...LOL

The other reason is because my signature color is black. Hence DarkAngel..

I am rally not a bad person, just seems to be that way...I bluff well
