Finally! A Clothing Converter That's Free!(everybodysayYAY!)
-----------------------------------
now V3 can wear aiko's school uniform! And Maya can wear Vicky's fetish dress!
PhilC's software had to be purchased...but finally I found Crossdresser at the [removed by Tormie] store.

[link removed by Tormie]

this thing is freeeeeee!!!!!

Note by Tormie:

I edited the message because the software is not free as declared. To work it needs a licence for the figure where the dresses is transformed, they say that it's free but it isn't. They say "free" in order to attract costumers. Advertising of commercial products is forbidden on Posetteforever.

I just checked out the site and though I have not yet downloaded CrossDresser I did send the creators an e-mail about whether this software will work with Posette and Dork. I also asked if they plan to add support for the P4 people in the near future. I will let everyone know what their response is when they get back to me. :thumb:

What I want to know is if it is free then why the license. Is that used when you try to sell it or is it just to get the software to work. :mmmh: Also they mention about free license in the future and they have been out a while with this. What gives? :dontknow: If it doesn't work without spending money then it may be free but you will have to pay an arm and leg to support all those characters for $9.95 each. :bigrinnin:

The license is for converting to a figure. You can convert from any figure for free; but you need a license to convert to a figure.

I was asked to beta test this utility; but it does not run on Mac OS.

I agree there should be conversion to the eFrontier Poser people too.

not that what i am about to say is nearly as good as the clothing converter, just a little tip.

A lot of clothing for pt, v1,2 and v4 - NOT v3 can be made to fit posette pretty easy. U select the clothing's hip and move it down. If it is pt clothing scale up, v1,2 & 4 scale down.

In my lastest gallery pic ( just poste :) ) posette is wearing an off shoulder shirt for the preteen.

Re: Finally! A Clothing Converter That's Free!(everybodysayY
-----------------------------------
So what you are saying Whazizname, is that the software will not work until you apply some sort of license. So I have another question. If you buy a V4 License and you want to convert V2,V1, Akio3 and V3 clothing to V4, then it will only cost you one license of $9.95 for that Model Character? Another problem with this is the PC I am using is not on the internet because when I work with it I don't have to worry about Hackers or Viruses etc. So I can get an activation to make it work. That was an issue I had brought up on their site.

In this world nothing is really for free unless you pay for it. :snooty: :lmao:

Re: Finally! A Clothing Converter That's Free!(everybodysayYAY!)

Here is a quote from the site:
"The CrossDresser program is FREE to download. You will need a license for each figure to whom you wish to convert clothing (converting clothing from a figure is free, and requires no additional purchases). Please see the Purchase Options page for more details.

The CrossDresser program itself is free because we will occasionally be offering some figure licenses free of charge. These licenses will have the same terms as a purchased figure license."

Here is a similar quote from the help file:
"The CrossDresser program itself is free to download. Converting clothing from a
figure does not require a license for that figure. However, to convert clothing to a
figure, you will need to purchase a license for that figure. You can do this in one
of two ways:
Purchase an individual figure license:
This will give you a perpetual license to use the CrossDresser to convert
clothing to that particular figure. This type of license is required if you wish
to distribute any clothing you convert with the CrossDresser.
Purchase a subscription to the CrossDresser:
This will give you a license to convert clothing to any of the figures the
CrossDresser currently supports. This license continues as long as you
continue your subscription. This type of licensing is good if you want to
convert clothing to many characters. However, this is only a personal
license. Clothing you convert under this license is for personal use only,
and may not be re-distributed."

So, yeah not REALLY free.

Re: Finally! A Clothing Converter That's Free!(everybodysayY

Be warned about the software. It has some flaws in it. The shoes and boots with high heels are the biggest problems and I hope they will work the bugs out on that. The clothes seem to do fine. The gloves may be a problem because they are harder to work with. I have not tried the P4 women yet so I don't know how well it will work. But this is a big break threw to all that can use some clothes for Posette. I asked for a free download and all you have to do is go the site and sign up by using a working e-mail and user name. Then request a version to activated all of the license to try it out. :thumb:

Re: Finally! A Clothing Converter That's Free!(everybodysayY
-----------------------------------
Ok, here is the deal on the license. You get the software meaning (Crossdresser 2.1) For free. How ever you have to have a license to each model character to make the clothes for them. In other words if you want to have P4 women a dress and you have all of these models such as Vic 1 2 3 and Koshini as well as the Girl with all having their own clothes, you can purchase a License of the P4 women for $9.95 and load it into the software. From that point on you can transfer the clothes from other models to Posette. Because of copy rights the license is like any other thing you buy. It gives you permission to clothe your Posy with other characters clothes.

If you sign up to the site by giving them an active e-mail and set a password then all you have to do at that point is ask them threw e-mail to their site if you can have a free license to activate the software to try it out for a few days. I did and they let me use it for about 3 days with all license activated. :thumb: Once you get a reply back from them you simply put your e-mail and user password in the software to activate it for a free trial. Can't beat that now can you? :thumb:

Re: Finally! A Clothing Converter That's Free!(everybodysayY

Thank you for the explanation Kenny, now all is clear :thumb:

Ok, this is not a free software :snooty: , Links will be removed , it can't be advertised on PF :nono: . I'm sorry to have noticed it too late, I understood a totally different thing about licences: I thought that a "license" was to be sure that you own the original character, like if the program would check if a certain character was present on the PC . But as usual I understood wrong  they sell licences. The program is useless without licences so it's free and useful without licence like a bicycle without wheels.... :nono: :nono: :nono:

Re: Finally! A Clothing Converter That's Free!(everybodysayY
-----------------------------------
Well, I've to say that I couldn't resist  and I bought the licence for Posette    . I need some teen dresses for Angela more than Posy... However, I've also tried what I was not supposed to do: Convert another character into a Posette, not a dress but a whole character... The result was not "normal" because for example the collars zones went in the head but I succeded in conforming Posette dresses on this character. I'll ask to the author of this program to add support for the Poser character: P5, P6, P7 Women, Men, teens and kids. We should be able to have a real P5, P6 and P7 woman, I mean the real evolution of Posette made with a default character

Here is a first try with Angela. I'm working on her in this period because I want to make some pictures wih her as the main character, meanwhile I'm learning some new techniques, like the ones in rayera's tutorial :notworthy: and in the material room

EeevilInnocence Still Has Posette Freebies...
-----------------------------------
But they really, really want you to buy their so-pretty stuff.

XD is up to version 4, which has had sundry bugs cleaned out, and they say can be easier tweaked to prevent crooked seams, zips etc etc...

Sadly, the P4F XD-license is still 'purchase', as are some superb P4F outfits. Okay, I bought a license and a 'Valentine' outfit for Posette, won't say how much.

There are LOTS of lovely, lovely freebie clothes for Posette, Aiko, Vicky3 etc etc. And there are freebie XD-licenses for some of the lesser-known legacy figures.

I've spent my pocket-money for this month, so those pricey, but stompin' 'Bootleggers' from Daz will have to wait...

Perhaps by then I'll have assembled the CAD PC !!

Okay, time to change the cat litter....

Mid-May 2017, just getting the CAD Tower configured, still haven't installed Poser 11 etc...

I'm running a year late on what I'd expected would be a six-month project.
