It turns on when I plugged it in and seems to work but I know nothing about this vacuum. I did find out it's made in Italy and is quiet an expesive vacuum and does a lot of stuff. Davide do you know anything about these? Anyone? No instructions came with it due to it being used and in a second hand store so I could use any help if anyone knows how to use them. As for the 110, well the plug on this one seems to work fine for our electricity, I think they make them for the US as well as for Italy and other Countries. They both use water in them. Yes we use to have one. They are good for keeping the pollen down for all of you hey fever sufferers. It stopped working 21 years. My bf's sister has a rainbow I guess but I've never used one. I think if this one works I did make a good deal and I may even have it check over and if it's all working good I may try and sell it on ebay and see if I can make a good profit :) My grandparents had an upright kirby when I was a kid, they gave it to my mom when I was in my late teens (they had it refurbushed then) and they bought a new one. My mom ended up giving the old kirby to me after I was married and I had it for years.
