On the right side of the rendering window there's a bunch of buttons, the bottom one being for the collision detection. Here you turn it on/off and enable a view of when two objects collide and where. When you've enabled the collision detection there, you need to enable collision detection on the individual props you want it used on. There's a checkbox for this in the 'properties' tag on objects.
