I'll try to keep this short.. My contract for the room I'm renting is expiring soon. I thought it was untill the end of this month, because I pay the rent on the 1st of every month. Well, it's not. It's the 15th. Which is in four days. So I have to be out of the room by that time, which is rather problematic seeing as I live a 8-9 hour car drive from home. I've already paid out this month, so I asked if I couldn't stay untill then. 'No' they said. They'll refund the surplus along with my deposit they said. Why? Because they've already rented out the room to someone else for when I've left. Now technically, according to the contract they're in their full right. However, I've gotten no notifications that the contract was about to expire, no questions or proportion of continuing renting the room. Hell, I haven't even gotten a notification that they're renting out the room as soon as I leave. I find this pretty immoral and unethical.. unfortunately, it doesn't really look like it's much I can do. Now, these landlords have basically been shafting us all the way. Since the first day, something's always been wrong. There was a point we had to threaten to hold back some of our rent if they didn't get their asses to the house and fixs alot of shit that was supposed to be fixed long ago. Basically, something they'd procrastinated for two months took them about two days to fix. I've talked with my mother, who'll try and rally someone to drive down here. But only four days.. fuck me. Anyway, don't panic, use your internet connection to find a new room, 4 days could be enough... (It's nearly midnight, so there are only >3< days left 8-[ ... And the weekend is coming :shocked!: ) You can even talk and ask for help to your teachers, if you licked well their asses during lessons they could help you... They know al lot of people... Italian solution: ignore what they said, stop pay them and stay there, go to a doctor and obtain a paper that say that you're ill and can't move. Change the door locks and resist. If I were you I would do in this way plus the destruction of the room. Console yourself, these things use to happen to students... Keep us informed. I'll have to store my stuff in another vacant room untill thursday, because I can't get a ride untill then. In the meantime, I'm not sure if I'll have a place to sleep untill then.
