My 52" HDTV— is now about [i]8 years old...[/i] My Daughter has a 42" plazma... but she's [i]hinted[/i] She's like to [i]move that[/i] -to her bedroom and have something 'BIGGER' -in her [i]living room...[/i] but my TV is staying -[i]WHERE IT IS..[/i] until she Graduates from [i]College—[/i] and [u]GETS[/u] A [b]JOB[/b].... I'm praying that next [i]summer—[/i] I will have the heavy weight— of [u]supporting[/u] her lifestyle, [i]and paying[/i] her [b]TUITION[/b]... relieved ...and I'll be [b]ABLE[/b] to Breathe -for the first time in [i]many years.[/i]... I'm really happy -that Grocho has [i]all these new Toys....[/i] But leahman is NEVER the guy 'to jump in— when technology -is new... Hey, I bought a [b]BATA[/b] Video Tape player— and we all know how[i] that turned out.[/i] WHEN the first [b]HDTV[/b] arrived— I knew it was going to take some time, to get this mess -sorted out.... There were 720 i set, then 720p sets... then 1080i and 1080p... I even remember seeing one -that was [i]over 3000i[/i] but things settled down— because they had to [i][u]match up[/u][/i] with what Hollywood movies and theaters, had. A DVD is the equalivant for a 1080i HDTV, and you [i]don't need—[/i] a 1080P set, unless you're going to go with Blue Ray... Personally— I'm an OLD DUDE, and my [u]eyes[/u] are not that great anymore... NOW, [u]I could tell[/u] -a [b]BIG[/b] difference— between my old 32' CRT S TV set and a DVD on a BIG [b]1080i HDTV [/b]set— with a good Home Theater Sound System... It was BIGGER— it was [i]CLEARER[/i] and it sounded -a LOT better. :clap: I really [i]can't tell any difference—[/i] between a DVD and a Blue Ray... It [i][b]COSTS a lot—[/b][/i] but there's a [u]TINY[/u] difference 'to me— IF [i][b]ANY...[/b][/i] But the new 3D sets, obvioulsy— there's a [i]big difference.[/i] But I'll WAIT— until the whole thing [u]settles out[/u] a bit... I don't have -[i]endless [/i]Cash and whatever I[b][i] get[/i][/b]— has [i]got to last me[/i] for a while... IT wasn't very[i] long ago—[/i] we had 27" concole TV sets -and [u]only[/u] -3 ...Blurry channels.. to watch... When I was[i] born[/i]— there [u]WAS[/u] -no TV. But I remember [b][size=14]Houdy~Dooty[/size][/b]— like it was yesterday. Most of [i]my family[/i]— [u]worked[/u] in Television. Most of these new sets—[i] I am seeing[/i], ALSO do internet... Obviously—[i][u] in the future[/u][/i] (if there[i][b] is [/b][/i]a future) TV and the Internet -must MERGE together.... I never thought -that Celluar Phones would be such a hit... I dispise telephones.... they are an invention to interupt and annoy -a person to death..... [b]PERSONALLY—[/b] I hope... that these new TV/internet [i]combinations.[/i].. will be sucessful enough— that I see the [i][b]arrogant Movie Theaters—[/b][/i] CLOSE UP -and go [b][i]Out of Business[/i][/b] with their ...$8 movie tickets $9 popcorn, and NO-SMOKING Signs... THEY have -more[i][b] commercials [/b][/i] -than TV -back in the 60s.... I like ...to be [i]Able[/i]— to take my [i]shoes off[/i] put on -a FLICK... Pour -a little Coke ...and Crown Royal... then light a Smoke... to [i]watch a movie[/i]... I don't LIKE —[i][b] paying over $40 [/b][/i] for my Wife and I -to go to the crappy Theater and Be TOLD what I can do... and have -[i]screaming [/i]BRATS... [u]ruining[/u] -the Movie... _Anything to [b][i]SNIP [/i][/b] -those [i]Strings[/i] of the Control freaks...
