I remember having seen a character over at sharecg. Limbs and body just rounded cylinders and a ball for the head, no mimics thou. I cannot remember who did it. Maybe do a search for any character with something like "stick" in it.
I don't have poser 14 pro, but it should be possible to load a video as background shader in the material room.
