In the Poser 4 era, there were countless hobbyist-made face morphs for Posette, but nearly all of them resulted in the appearance of a woman aged somewhere between 20 and 40. Probably because most Poser 4 hobbyists were themselves under age 40, and mostly interested in making Poser characters generally resembling themselves, modification options for turning Posette into an older woman were extremely limited. There was a free P4 character called 'Old Lady' by an unknown author (who went to the trouble to include documentation with his figure, then forgot to put his name on it!), but the character wasn't Notably good, either in realism or in aesthetic value. [img]https://www.posetteforever.com/files/posted_images/5475/old_and_young.jpg[/img] To my knowledge, the only Notable Posette character depicting an elderly woman came in the form of a morph set by Traveler (of Morph World fame). Though the free download was called 'P4 Female Age Kit,' apparently the character herself was meant to be called 'Beatrice.' The set consists only of face morphs for P4NW, but the eleven separate morphs are of good quality, giving good results. A custom medium-resolution P4NW texture map is also included. I've shown the results of applying the Beatrice face morphs and texture to a standard Posette in example A of the image above. Traveler's morph work here was well-done. Rather than quibble over any tiny details, we should simply note that many other common Posette face morphs (such as those found in Ultramorph Woman 2 by Confusius) could contribute further to the aging effect obtained with Beatrice. The only notable issue with the Beatrice kit is the texture map, in which Beatrice seems to have lost her eyebrows. In Morph World days, bump mapping was not a common practice amongst Poser 4 hobbyists, but I'll add that the depiction of agedness in Beatrice could be made considerably more convincing with an agressive bump map applied to her skin. In any case, she's a good if limited character of her intended type. More importantly perhaps, Beatrice was apparently the only satisfactory option in P4 times for making an old Posette. For her render in the example, I added the Kozaburo UpDo hair, with a grey-haired texture made by myself. At the opposite end of the aging spectrum, there probably were many quality young-looking Posettes of whom I'm not aware, but teenaged characters never interested me. I never collected them, nor do I recall what may have been available in P4 days in that regard. Any time I need a Posette who's closer to age 20 than closer to age 30, I've always just used the once-famous Slaybelle face morph by Duane Moody (example B). Slaybelle's face has a pronounced youthful look compared to a standard Posette, and Moody's morph work was first-rate on this free character. Perhaps even more importantly than the Slaybelle face itself, the Slaybelle freebie came with [i]two of the most important morphs ever made for P4NW[/i]-- Duane Moody's Slaybelle Smile 1 and Slaybelle Smile 2. Whether separately, in unison, or combined with other mouth settings, these two wonderful morphs add scintillating warmth and enthusiasm to any Posette's smile that is simply unobtainable with any other P4NW smile-related morphs available in those days. The best way to use these happy morphs is to set the basic shape of the smile with Slaysmile 1, and then fine-tune that shape with Slaysmile 2 (as #2 is powerful, and can deform the whole lower face if used at high settings). The address of the site was geocities.com/duane_moody and the Slaybelle set was on the 'Head Shop' page. Regardless of whether one is interested in youthful Posettes, I strongly encourage anyone still using Posette in 2026 to hop on the Wayback Machine as soon as possible and obtain Moody's 'Slaybelle Smile' morphs (if you don't already have them). You and your Posettes will be very happy to have these vital and unique old morphs. A full character of unusually good quality and appeal, who was also a young-looking Posette, was a fun freebie character called 'Wonder Girl' by Quagnon (examples C). Apparently Wonder Girl was a comic book character, about whom I know nothing, so I can't comment on Quagnon's depiction. As a youthful and vivacious Posette, however, I have no reservations in proclaiming Wonder Girl as one of the most notable examples I can recall. Wonder Girl comes with a wardrobe and props well-suiting a teenaged Posette from the 1990s. She has an open leather jacket (poseable) of the sort then popular with motorcyclists, motorcycle googles, and some retro 1980s leg-warmers. Those custom props are in addition to her t-shirt, biker shorts, and tennis shoes (which are all standard P4 items). The character comes with a medium resolution texture map, apparently by Quagnon, which is rather bland-- but which, as a result, also renders evenly and without distortions. The character wears the standard P4 Conforming Curls, without any texture map. Wonder Girl's already charming appearance could be further advanced with an application of even a basic dark-haired or blue texture to her coif. On the general topic of youthful Posettes, all of the LinLin family of figures by Yamato tended to a natively youthful look (compared to a default Posette), and come with extra morphs to further enhance such a characterization. For example, their 'NewButt3' morphs, which they all bore at least as far back as RanRan, present a remarkably slim physique. Their figures could easily be combined with Duane Moody's old Slaybelle face using Mr. X's Morph Manager program. Another notably youthful-looking face morph of good quality from Poser 4 days was Ikyoto's 'Claudia' (sometimes also called 'CS'), for which any LinLin family P4NW could likewise supply a suitable body. If one does not have any archives of the old P4-era figures and morphs, then a readily accessible alternative today for a quick and easy youthful Posette can be found in a figure by ahjah, available in the downloads section (Figures-Posette) here at Posette Forever. She's called 8th Anniversay (AJ_P4F_8thAnniv). Two of her full body morphs, #B002 and #B004 (especially the former), present relatively youthful figures, particularly if one scales down Posette's whole body to 95 or 90 percent. On this same ahjah figure's head, morph #B011 also presents a relatively youthful face to complete the depiction. Like many of ahjah's contributions, the 8th Anniversary figure is intended as a library rather a starlet, and her morphs should be transferred to one's own full-fledged Posettes using Morph Manager.
