Post The "Forgotten Posette stuff" project...

#1  Tormie 30 Oct 2004 21:22

Hi friends   ...

In my collection of Posette's clothings I have a lot of them, very beautiful, that I downloaded for free a long time ago, expecially on Japanese sites like Batlab or Isop. Now they are disappeared from there, so I started tonight to send emails to the owners of those sites in order to ask them the permission to share their old works : I offer the space, the bandwidth and all the credits to the author, as usual.

Actually I'm searching the email of ISOP ( http://iso.power.ne.jp/ ) and sent a PM to BatLAb in Renderosity. Next I'll search for PhilC

If you want to help me, You could send an email to an author (or give me their addresses) who don't have anymore Posette's resources in sharing telling him/her that we will be proud to host their works here with full credit !

We've to save Posette   !!!

Thank you in advance

Great idea. But - believe it or not - all Poserstuff-sites i know with
old stuff for Posette and Dork, are still exists.
Or did you mean something like: Phil C. had a lot of stuff for Posette,
but now only for Vickis and so on... and you think about, that he give
some old stuff to Posetteforever? I think, there are not so much guys
there... - only a few names: Nerd3D (but has still stuff for Posette i think),
rubios room (but it was many for his own characters, sometimes based
upon Posette - but i don't have a adress or email   .
I would help, but i have no idea of email- or www-adresses...

I think that they will have no problems offering their old Posette's things because no one would buy them today   (except some of the members of our little community :droll2:, me included   ). In any case we can try... We can also ask the permission for a direct link in our upload page, with the image, the credits and the author's home page...

Okay, i will take a look (i'm often on a trip to seek & find new freebies   ),
if i find a site i remind: "oh, there was stuff and yet not anymore", i ask the owner or tell you about the site.

They're some beautiful Posette clothing - mostly form older centuries at www.poserfashion.net, now there's only stuff for newer models. The dresses use to be freebies ( i'm lucky to have one of those freebies dresses:)!), but now they're sold on a cd throough another site....Maybe it would be an idea to ask the creator (serge mark) or maybe the cd with the p4clothes sells too well...

I think that if it is sold they never give them to us for free      But I'm not an optimist

I hate to say this, but few people other than ourselves are interested in anything
Posette.  Since fewer and fewer people use Posette in favour of the commercial models
or newer freebie models, we will see these resources disappear due to lack of interest.
Renderosity had a lot of new things for Posette in the last few weeks.
We will eventually have to be content with what we have in the way of clothes unless we ourselves
make the items.
I hope that you are successful.

This is a great idea.

I'll search through my stuff over the next few weeks and see what is out there to save.

While reviewing more of the forums contents from before I joined, I found this topic.  I have begun to review what I downloaded back around 1999/2000 when I tried to get restarted with art.  I lost most of it since then, but much also survived.

I have sent out a few emails to some artists who I hope will be receptive of this idea in relations to items that they have created.

I've done the same in the last period and had some positive reply. I wrote to Arduino for EVE v2 (a Posette) but no reply, and he lives 80 kms from here...

Most that I have found in my files don't have email addresses or website URLs.  Most of those with an email address, the address is not loger valid.  Most of those with a website address, the website is long gone.

I was going to write to Arduino, but I suppose that won't do any good.

I have tried to contact Cakeone, but the only email address I have is the same one that is listed on the website.  Mail sent to it is rejected with "Recipient address rejected:
Account expired"

One person who was active, but has shutdown because of bandwith theft so I thought might apprectiate this project is Rubio.  But the only email address I have for her is out of date and it appears that she has not been to Renderosity for years.

I got a reply from PhilC.  He suggested a site link, I had forgotten that he uses his free items as loss leaders for the advertisements that he runs at the top of the page.

I have some great morphs for P3 and P4 people, I think they came from Morph World and are nolonger available for download, instead they now sell all of the older items on a CD.

Not giving up yet.

Now that I'm back I'll get going through my archives for any loose stuff hanging around that we might be able to use.

I do remember a lot of early items having a 'distribute freely' tag as long as the original notes and readme were attached. These we should be able to upload without fear of problems.

Just have to bear with me whilt I look...
