Great artwork mister Nik !!!
We can feel some apocalysical atmosphere here !!!, perhaps in "Mad Max" context, or "Dune"
Dear madam, if you're in search of some Spice here, be careful about the sand worms
Nice rendering again mister Nik
Sorry for confusion

She's got her work cut out cleaning up the place, to make it an attractive option for folks to detour through the desert to come here.
It will be interesting to see which way your render style goes as you get more comfortable with your set up (i.e. echoes of you're old style or an all new look). _______________ I've found that to do well with any figure you really need to have a passion for that figure, ...and I hope you develop that passion for yours. |

Thank you for the kind words.
Really, this was a test import / scale / texture / light / render of the outside. As I said, there's a lot of rooms etc underground. Think 'iceberg'. FWIW, this ~ 9 MB OBJ makes ~25K calls to its ~90 textures. Yet, by RM/DE standards, this is a 'small' map / set. He's been merrily ripping / re-creating vast, but free 'Resident Evil' sets, among others, posting on DA and SCG. Most are far too complex for Poser as-is, whose practicable OBJ limit seems about a dozen MB. Sadly, many RM/DE set models are 20 MB ~~ 40+ MB, plus umpteen half-MB textures. The budget CADs I tried either had daft UIs, could not I/O MTLs, or 'fell over' due x32 limits. Then I found AC3D which seems to tick all boxes. There's a month's free trial, but just about affordable if okay. Now looks likely to clash with my P_12 upgrade budgeting... My plan, when I've got an MTL-friendly CAD, is to dissect such mega-sets into manageable 'modules'. Also, to identify then designate / insert light fittings. Which I may merrily dial unto 'Super Ambient', saving much, much wrangling of Poser's oft-cranky lights... And, yes, I still want to learn Poser figure rigging / re-rigging. I'm 'holding off' lest P_12's FBX I/O upgrade groks figures that currently 'explode' or 'splat', saving need for re-build... PP_11 will not accept current 'Make Human' MH_1.1 FBX figures as-is. The next full MH release is stuck in Beta-Hell, but I'm hoping P_12 accepts forthcoming MH_1.2 FBX... Given MH is *free*, wouldn't that be 'One in the Eye' for D*Z and Smith Micro ?? _______________ |

Wow, I really like the lighting in this, everything seems so evenly lit, you can see all the details, it's almost as if the Sun was at 12:00 on a clear day, with almost no shadows which hide detail.
Nicely done "practicable OBJ limit seems about a dozen MB"... that's just mesh, not including texture? Does P11 64-bit slow down too much after that? _______________ |

I've 32 GB of RAM, which you'd think would be ample. But, Poser proved otherwise. It's not the slowing down, it's the garbage collection.
I learned to save big renders immediately they finished, as any change of complex scene may crash Poser. Losing nice renders really, really hurts. Or a scene that had rendered okay now renders grey, losing its textures. Again with the garbage collection... I reduced the number / space allocated to eg renders, which helped... When all else fails, when I cannot dial-back my superfly settings + GPU cards enough to get a wide-screen render, switching to traditional firefly + CPU usually works. Snag is firefly needs different lighting... N _______________ |

"it's the garbage collection"... ah, yes , I see that issue a lot after a while. Then I close Poser & re-open the last saved file.
"now renders grey, losing its textures"... really, wow , I haven't seen that one yet, but I haven't really taxed Poser with a heavy load yet. _______________ |
