3 P4NWs rendered in Poser 4, with my own textures on everything in the scene.
Another take with Nigella, Iris, and the remodelled dwarf character. In doing a great deal of playing around with this dwarf figure, I found that due to the heavy and aggressive use of body part scaling, her posing range is much more limited than the usual posette, and even some relatively mundane positions cause her mesh to break. For the most part, she was able to perform the pose depicted here well enough, but there was a bad split on the junction of her chest and abdomen caused by only modest abdominal-hip twisting, so I had to do a smidge of repainting on the output render. To give an idea of the deformation, I left the curtain shadow to her left unmodified-- in the render itself, her midsection actually looked like that from a side profile. I don''t see a reason to do anything about it, as fixing the problem post-render only took five minutes, while on the other hand fooling around with joint parameters and blend zones on the figure mesh itself is a thankless way to waste hours and hours.
If we think about ''the Poser 4 look'' or a typical Poser 4 image from the heydays, a great many of them looked quite like this. The difference of course is that I decided to make this image look this way (it''s groovy!), while in the past many unwittingly did this less by decision than by default or lack of options. Poser 4 is quite good at making images of this style, and tends to do it automatically when left to its own devices. |
