First of all let me say it is great to see you again Harold.
I have had
bryce 6 and it sad to say is at the moment full of bugs. For anyone who is just going to build a ball then it will be fine.
But for people like you and me, then get ready to ripe your hair out. It in my way of looking at it has two big draw backs. One is where you group all your Boolean models together, positive and negative and make
a model to export to
Poser as a lightwave or 3Ds file. Others are there but I like 3DS better than any of it for exporting. This software at the moment really hogs your PCs memory. I have heard some people
have a huge file. 2 Gigs. I have never built an environment as big as that so I am a little impressed with their efforts. Build and group a model by itself and you are heading for a crash. This was one of the big things that
bryce 6 was suppose to do as a new part of the software, was to export as a full model. All I have made is a small spaceship of 33mbs.
The more in detail you do the slower it will work. Another thing is exporting animation to
bryce 6. This is a major step but the problem is it renders still to slow. I have heard that they are working madly on a patch to make it 6.1 and the guy they have, has stepped in to help. He has been with
bryce since it was a baby. Back in the 3 and 4 days. The rush date should be Feb 1 2007. Alot of work and this really could be a good thing. It needs alot of oil in the gears to stop it from squeeking.
