It was a Saturday morning science fiction show for kids back in the 60's.  The characters were all puppet like.  Fireball XL5 was the name of the show and also the name of the rocket ship that they used for transportation. The family oriented crew would travel around space, get in and out of trouble, and generally save the day at the end of the program (typical format).

Thank you Thilda       !! I saw fireball XL5, I don't remmeber if here in Italy it has the same title or an italian version that I can't remember...

   I was thinking the very same thing! That show, Thunderbirds (F.A.B. !!! ) and UFO were my favorites!

Those were two different shows in the same animation style.  There was a thrid one but I don't remember the name.
