First a little background. Some of the original text has been altered to protect the innocent. The innocent being myself....
CMS Stands for Centers for Medicare Services. it is a United States federal health care system for people 65 or older. we are in the process of setting up computer systems and such to access data so on and so fourth. MMCS is one of the managment systems we need to log into to enroll members and such.

I called the CMS IT Service Desk because I have not been able to log into their system all week. The conversation went something like this:

Me: (on hold after pressing several prompts to get me to the MMCS system)

CMS IT Service Desk Person: "Thank you for calling the CMS IT Service Desk may I have your username?"

Me: "edited*my username*"

CMS IT Service Desk Person: "Thank you - blah meeb fla bloop?"

Me: "I'm sorry?"

-Crank up the volume on my headset-

CMS IT Service Desk Person: "Who is calling?"

Me: "Oh! Brent Bunes."

CMS IT Service Desk Person: "Spell the last name please."

Me: "B-U-N-E-S."

CMS IT Service Desk Person: "Thank you how may I help you today?"

Me: "I called 2 days ago and was told the MMCS system was down and they would have it up yesterday morning and I was just wonde...."

CMS IT Service Desk Person: (interrupts) "imsh dill furown..."

-Try to crank up the volume on my headset, discover it is cranked-

Me: "I'm sorry?"

CMS IT Service Desk Person: "It's shrill clown..."

Me: "it's still down?"

CMS IT Service Desk Person: "yes it is still down, they had it up for a while this morning but nobody could log in."

-right now I am smirking-

Me: "Okaaaayyy.....is there a..."

CMS IT Service Desk Person: (interrupts again) "They don't have an estimated time of when they will have it back up. Were you getting a page cannot be displayed?"

Me: "yes I was getting a DNS error."

CMS IT Service Desk Knob: "OK, yes it is still down, like I said they had it up for a while this morning but nobody could log in."

-still smirking-

Me: "Then it was down."

CMS IT Service Desk Idiot: "No they had it up, just nobody could log in."

Me: "Alrighty then, should I just keep trying it?"

CMS IT Service Desk Mindless Response: "yes!"

Me: "Ok Thank you!!"

CMS IT Service Desk Dork: "Thank you for calling."

After that I immediately get this e-mail from their computer system telling me the service ticket I just opened has been resolved.

By the way, I just tried it. It still doesn't work!

It's up I bet.....

I just can't log in....

Lol, this kind of things happen daily here   ... Sometimes ago I had a car crash and I called my car insurance company who gave me the phnoe number of the person in charge for refund me.

That telephone number rang and rang but no answer, never. I called a lot of times the service desk and then emailed the insurance company saying that they should make a check on the location of that phone number, because it seemed that it was ringing in an empty room, I said them that the night before I had a dream   of the person that was assumed to be in that room and I clearly saw her decomposed corpse lying near the phone with the right hand on it (like she was trying to answer but had an heartache in the meantime...). I added that we were in winter, but when spring would have arrived the bad smell of the corpse would have come out of the room   .

They paid me after a short period.
