Post Why I'm going to the hospital...

Hi friends, I'll tell you what's the reason of my next surgical operation. It's simple, my fatness. I become bigger and bigger day by day and I simply can't stop. The problem is probably due to my (well known) lazyness and my stressful life. I use to be a very nervous person in real life and I'm no more able to follow a diet constantly: a little problem sooner or later will change my mood and I'll simply break the diet. I'm relatively young but I fear a lot for my health. When I went to the doctor, he said that my hearth has started to have problems and my respiration too. My back hurts every day because of my (increasing) weight and I'm having a lot of other problems: for example I'm constantly tired.
Lurking the net I found an italian forum for fat people and I read about the labaroscopic obesity surgery. A lot of the people there talked about Doctor Bottani (the link I put in my last post about the argument show him) and his equipe, so I went to him for a visit two weeks ago. He suggested me a "gastric band" and I'll go to his hospital the next week.

You can learn about what is a gastric band here:

http://www.obesitylapbandsurgery.com/index.html

What I've to say about this operation is that I'm very happy and motivated, I've no more taste in eating: I simply open the fridge and empty it out      , with this gastric band I can't do it anymore...

Don't worry about the cost of the operation, we have the public assistance here and I'll pay nothing       (one of the few good reasons to live here   )...

My uncle was in same situation. He had what we call stomach stapling. It makes your stomach very very small. He had to eat blended/creamed foods for awhile. He was over 450 lbs. (only he knew what his wieght was, we only guessed) and is now close to 190 lbs a year later. His health improved but he waited to long and is now waiting to get knee surgery to both of his knees, as the strain on them has damaged them.

Best of luck to you! And best wishes for a speedy recovery.
