I have received two (so far...?) private messages that appear to be from me; but are sent to me. Both of the messages are clearly spam.
I also received an email notification (in Italian) for the first message. I have forwarded these messages to Tormie; because I don't know enough about the site code to determine their origin.

Grrr... as I was writing te above post, I received another suspicious private message. It too appeared to be from me, and to me.
It (as the others) alledges to be a request to approve a post.

After re-reading the "What You will do" post from Tormie, I banned the poster, and moved the post to the "Posts awaiting approval" forum.

I think, this is due to Tormie's "emergency setting". He redirected the notification about an unapproved post to the staff members group. For it's a notification originally meant for Tormie, it's in Italian   
I'm getting these mails, too, and so should the other staff members...

No worries guys. Davide said he was going to activate some things for us to handle. I got some as well. If you are not sure then bomb them anyway with a red flag and redirect it into the Mods forum for discussion.  The  message has to come as you to your PM but look at the area where it is in the forum and approve it or red flag it. Save your PMs to give to Davide when he gets back. Thilda has main control of the site in case something should go wrong she can shut it down.   I don't know why, Davide left enough in the sites bathroom to shut anything down.

OK, thanks for the info/ insight friends; now my mind is eased.

I guess, I didn't understand just how much stuff Tormie has to put up with to keep this site safe from spammers.

That's ok Whazizname, I've already replied to you in the PM, the other guys are right. When a user that never wrote in the forum does it for the first time I receive the same notification that you received with two links: the first is for watch the topic, and the second is for approve it. These posts are only visible by the staff members, once approved they are visible to the rest of the world, this method push the 100% of the spam out of the site even if it's a boring thing: I track the IP address and the email domain of the spammer and ban it on the spot...

P.S. If a spammer would succeed in send a message that would look as it was originated from me, it would be the sign that the site is hacked and we're sinking

That is what I was concerned about Tormie; now that I understand the messages and emails, I don't mind receiving them (even if they are in Italian).
