Well to change the subject, I have found out that I have carpel tunnel in both hands/wrists<?> and a pinched nerve in my elbow region of my left arm and have to wear wrist splints, elbow pad and see a specialist in a couple of weeks. I give up, between all that and my knee that is all but gone and keeps locking up on me, I might as well stay in bed all day anymore lol
At least my right arm isn't as bad yet, so as long as I can hold the mouse and use it in Poser and photoshop I won't think of doing anything drastic yet

I'm very sorry GP       !!! I hope all will go well, I know that there are a cure for the carpel tunnel but in many cases it needs surgery.

Well I guess it's no more sausage for me then

Thanks Tormie, I am not sure what they are going to do about this, the worst part is that I'm left handed and my carpel tunnel is the worst in that hand, and also that's the arm I have the pinched nerve in. Doctor says that surgery can be done for the pinched nerve but it only has about a 60 precent chance of fixing it. As for the Carpel tunnel, yes they can do surgery for that too, but I think that it's pretty much done when it's really bad. Right now he wants me to see a specilist and also to wear wrist splints and a elbow pad, even to sleep in! I can see now that I'm not going to be sleeping much if I wear these to bed lol
As long as I can use my right hand on the mouse and still play with Poser I'll be happy.
I just have trouble sitting at the computer and typing a lot, which explains one of the reason's I'm not posting as many comments and such on here and the other sites. Also I'm buried in doc's appts for myself and my son these days. I hope soon to get a break in that though lol

Don't worry I'll still be in here to give you all crap about something that you've done or I've made up about you

I know there are a lot of tools for temporary inability, like special mice or keyboard. The carple tunnel could be caused by intensive use of keyboards or mice or tools of this kind. Better for you to rest a little your hands ! I hope you will feel better soon !

Sorry to hear about your  carpal tunnel syndrome Rene. That is a very painful and annoying
condition. A friend of mine had the same problem and after surgery, seems to be OK.

I think that a lot of the problem has to do with repetitive motion as far as using a keyboard and
a mouse for long periods of time on a daily basis as well as how your arm and wrist are supported.
I will put up a Poser pic to show my setup that seems to work for me.
I'm a leftie as well, but I can't use a mouse with my left hand to save my life....
I use my right hand for the mouse, but can't write with it to save my life.
When I used to play soccer, I used to fool the opposition.
I was the goalie and I could be seen throwing the ball with my right hand.
When I would kick the ball away, the opposition came in from the right side,
because they assumed I was right handed. I kicked with my left foot and that used to really mess with them.

Thank you everyone, but I'm not out of the game yet, I'm just letting you all know what is going on and that I may have to cut down on my computer work, or at least the typing part as that's what seems to bother me the most. I haven't got the wrist splints yet nor the elbow pad for my pinched nerve, so I'm not sure how that will effect my using a keyboard and mouse yet. Hopefully it won't hinder it too much. My family has already seen a difference in my emails, as I've cut down on those a lot in the last couple of months. But some of this is due to just having no real free time to even use the computer with all the outside stuff I'm having to do. I guess all the doctor's appts I'm having is a good thing though, at least now after a few years of not knowing what was going on I'm starting to find out and get it taken care of.
Den, I know the feeling, being left handed that is. I also can't use the mouse with my left hand, and my son bought me a tablet and pen for Christmas and it's really a struggle to use the pen in my left hand, but I can't write with anything in my right hand. Funny thing is, I use my right hand for a lot of things though, like if I go bowling, baseball, things like that. But don't ask me to write my name with my right hand unless you like scribbley gook lol
I will keep you all posted on what is being done, but don't worry I'll be fine and up to no good in no time at all

I'm right handed, however I can easily use my left hand to find treasures hidden into my nostrils...

There are a lot of pointing devices, I saw a mouse that can be moved with feet ! Youe hands need to rest but I think you can use the computer anyway...

you need to learn to type with your toes.....

I've heard that Carple Ankle Syndrome is much easier to deal with....

You should have started this a  new thread Landman.
It would get  a better response that way.
