I go out with my old camera, but it's hand held, and film, so until I get it developed, I don't know what I have.

If like in this case the lens element in the 2 x teleconverter is out I don't know until I see the results. I shot a good few films before I got them developed then saw the bad results (AAARRGGGHHH!!!).

That's the main advantage in digital, you can see your mistakes immediately
I never seriously worked with analog film, never could afford it. But I'd like to try for sure
