| Pic Description: |
After recently reviewing the CV of Dwarf Posette in a forum post here, I decided to send her for a makeover. My regular models Nigella and Iris were so impressed with the results, they invited their diminutive pal to participate in their latest render session.
3 P4NW rendered in Poser 4, with my own textures on everything appearing in the left scene. Nigella (left) and Iris (right) wear UpDo hair by Kozaburo, while Dwarf Posette (middle) wears High Pony Hair by Mylochka. Behind the ladies is Curtain by Zippo. Postwork on the P4 output render was minimal, but those familiar with P4NW will appreciate that Dwarf Posette''s pose is very difficult for her lower torso, so I had to repaint a little bit to fix her mangled knees.
On the right side inset is an actual render of the original download pz3 file of Dwarf Posette, made without any modification of the settings used in that file. Hard to believe there was a time when that was a fresh or cutting-edge look, but it once was.
Setting aside props (armor, sword, etc), the old freebie Dwarf Female character by John Malis was just a regular P4NW with a face morph and the rest accomplished with scaling dials, so it was easy to apply one of my modern/enhanced Posettes and remake the character from scratch. I made a new texture and gave her some better hair (the original used default Poser Female Hair 2), and I think she turned out pretty well. I can''t say I do many scenes calling for dwarf characters, but if I did, I''d now feel good about using this revised character without further tuning.
On a different point, I''m really very happy with this new Nigella Posette I recently made (posted here in a few images as ''Purple Posette'' before I named her), and have been doing lots of renders with her. I usually like to set up background-prop heavy stages even for extemporaneous scenes, but to speed up the process I turned to the simpler type of staging seen here. When done properly, the simpler set gives a surreal mood, though one might also say it''s nostalgic, remembering the long ago times when places like Renderosity and Renderotica were filled with zillions of very simple Poser images superficially resembling the one above. |
