Nigella encountered a pack of ghouls. One might call it a random encounter, but on the other hand, what else did she expect while wandering around a graveyard alone at midnight? The wild and weird creatures were terrifying, but fortunately she has studied Count Erlette''s Cultes des Goules, and knew how to handle herself in the situation. Ghouls only eat dead flesh, and furthermore are rarely hostile unless provoked. Nigella did her best to remain calm, and in the end the rotten-jawed female ghoul seemed content to admire the posette''s shiny white teeth before letting her go on her way unharmed.
2 P4NWs and 1 P4NM rendered in Poser 4. Nigella (the middle character) is all my own textures, while the ghouls are modifications of an old P4NM texture by an unknown creator.
This image came together quickly. I had something else in mind, and a lot more props, but during a test render on Nigella''s face cam, I supposed there was no reason to continue on; mission accomplished.
I rarely use textures by other people on focal points of an image, but in the case of the rather unique ghoul characters, the original texture for P4NM was good enough to accept as is. However, it does have some issues. A critical eye turned on this close-up will reveal some seam mismatches, as well as the old problem that posette and dork faces are larger on the texture maps than the rest of their bodies, which innately causes a resolution disparity unless one takes special precautions to work around the issue.
Pickman ghouls, a kind of monster invented by the late horror author HP Lovecraft, are usually specified in their literary source material as having somewhat canine faces, like some sort of dog-men, but I don''t have any morphs of that sort. On the other hand, if one browses random internet images, one also sees plenty of Pickman ghouls which look rather like the one''s I made here out of a morph soup, so I don''t forsee further work (apart from fine-tuning) on those particular characters. |
