Pic Description: Picked up a budget CGT FBX model set, three pretty ''bottle gardens'' by ''lekaloable''.

Nice meshes, nice 2k textures. But, the FBXs did not call the textures. And the FBX version was too recent to investigate with eg Autodesk toolbox.

To my surprise, the first FBX I tried imported to Poser as-is at 100% scale. No ''explosion'' of umpteen hierarchy parts, just ''bottle'' and ''contents''. No problems except, of course, they did not call textures. With those hand-loaded, including the ''bottle'' texture''s Alpha-channel split out as ''Transparency'' map, I then spent hours adjusting the materials.

Getting the ''transparency'' and ambiance right proved very hard, multiple renders halted when obvious that tweaks were not improving. These two superfly renders were a dozen iterations apart. IMHO, one on right is a bit better...

I don''t often save the PZ3, but I''m not yet satisfied. Also, I screen-captured both materials'' pages to give me a ''running start'' at the other two bottle gardens...

Are their contents alien, or simply exotic orchids ?? YMMV...

Nice one Sir! I think they look 'alien'. I prefer the one on your left of the screen. I'm exploring bryce now, downloading videos & tutorials , thinking that I can learn more about materials there. Then, transfer that knowledge gained to other applications.

Nice idea to screen capture material settings, when you change things, I should use a screen capture utility to do that if I'm using bryce aw well.

Care, can be very difficult to get models out of bryce in 'other' formats. I had enough problems getting 'native' OBPs into bryce, then got stuck trying to export as eg OBJ or 3DS.

If you're using Win10, you can now use 'Winkey shift S' combo to drag and grab part of screen to clipboard, paste into favourite image editor such as *free* Irfan View.
IIRC, there are about five other ways...
