After surviving unscathed her initial midnight encounter with the ghouls, Nigella gained some confidence in dealing with the strange creatures. A week later she returned to the graveyard with an offering of raw meat. After the ghouls gobbled up the snack, Nigella tremulously negotiated with them to escort her into the catacombs beneath the spot, so she could pick some rare flowers which only grow in the underground caverns. The ghouls said she must disguise herself as one of their kind before descending-- by removing her clothing and covering herself in mud-- for her own safety, as some of the fearsome monsters in the caverns are content to leave ghouls alone, but would mercilessly attack humans on sight. Nigella was mostly content to comply with the request, but... rub fungus all over herself? Was that really necessary?

Wow, jpg compression hit this image really hard, as I had to crank it up to 20 to get a suitable file size. Must be the complexity of the ground texture (at least that''s my guess), which covers a large area of this image. |
