Hi, the texture for my Betty charater is the stock Posette texture that I had tweaked while leaning how to work on those types of textures. After a couple of other "learning experiences", I started painting a new texture for her from scratch.
I was not happy with the results I was getting with the default P4NW UV map, so I remapped Betty to support more detailed and flexible texturing.
I am keeping the original Betty, so that she can use Posette textures so I and created a different version of Betty that uses the new UV mapping. I am calling her Regina. After working with Regina and other characters based on her mapping, I am sure that I will further change their mapping.
These pictures are sample renderings of Regina's first texture. The upper left picture is Regina face as rendered in Poser. The lower left picture is her face a rendered in bryce. The right picture is a full body shot of Regina as rendered in bryce. Of course, I did no postwork on the pictures other than assembling them into a single image file.
I feel that her eyelashes and eyebrows need the most work; however, at the moment I am taking a break from working on Regina, because I have gotten to the point where I am spinning my wheels. So I thought I would take a break from working on her for a while and post these pictures here and see what all of you think of her so far. Any advice is more than welcome.

It's a good start pangor, you can use some "darken" brush from photoshop for the eyelashes: you start from the center and paint them....

The main texture map...   Ophs... Sorry, I confused "eyelashes" with "eyebrows", all due to the language barrier  ... Sorry... I mean "eyebrows" for the work to do with the darken brush... This is a closup of Posy :heartbeat: , Posy's eyebrows" were made in this way...

Last week I worked a little on Regina's base texture, mostly trying to get her skin to look more natural. As you can see, I did not make any progress with her eyebrows and lashes since the last WIP posting above. I guess, my drawing hand is a bit too heavy, but it is improving ;-)
The other version above was used as the base texture for the ladies in "Birth of Galatea". This version is the texture that I used for Gloria the Elven Lady in "Oh Glorious Spring". As always comments and suggestions are welcome. |
