Post I love NYC

Well, today you've been entertained with a strange line saying "I love NYC" and some other lines of errors, well, as usually happens here it was not a hacker but it was my fault instead   ...

As I PMed you I installed a piece of code intended to help me in the spammers hunt, but the first problem appeared instanly because alcide is using an IP that is blacklisted, because his ISP here in Italy is like a big lan with some IP addresses out of it , some of them are blacklisted because in this big lan there are spammers. So I went to read some PHP tutorial about how to exclude a particular IP from the function, and I found this piece of code that simply prints out on the screen "I love NYC" if a particular IP address match... I tried with mine and then I modified it so that it could work reversed, showing "I love NYC" from all Ip addresses different from mine... I forgot a little thing :  I forgot to put again the original code after that line and I went to work   ... Obvioulsy I could not see anything because I put there my IP and not the one from Alcide if Nik wouldn't emailed me and leahman wrote a complain in the shoutbox   ...

Now all should be normal, I'm waiting the come back of alcide from his weekend out to see if the code works for him...

...

Now I see, all's o.k., just "Tormie's Mess (TM)" (^_^)

Good news is that I just tested this little workaround with alcide and it worked perfectly . Now I'm seriously thinking of buying a book on PHP programming .   Nooo... it will become another thing to dust

So why NYC? I mean it seemed funny that it had a City from the US.
But then again................

Well I would had and in some small way I did in the shout box along with Andreas. But I hadn't seen you all day so I thought you might have gone to your mothers house and wasn't aware of it. I couldn't get a hold of you that way.
Besides we didn't know if the hacker indeed locked you out of the site.

Same with me as Kenny ,
And the page worked at least, only seemed loading slower as usual, and still does...

About being slow, it shouldn't because after the very first check on the IP all is as usual. Yesterday I deleted the cache of the thumbnails of the album, now they will be recreated automatically and it can slow down the portal page a bit for a while. I think it's a matter of ntetwork problem with the USA, I'll keep an eye opened on it and make a traceroute test...

P.S. Now at 12 o'clock it's going normal, but sometimes the connection simply crashes down, I think it's a temporary network problem (I hope... )
