Post Videochatroom not working for Mac OSX

It's saturday and the chatroom is not working anymore. I found that is a problem for the Mac users and that we're not alone, see this:

http://forum.oovoo.com/forums/p/3919/10564.aspx#10564

it looks like they don't even give a reply to the problem, the result is that if you go to the videochatroom , it stucks after the login id you use a Mac. I hope ti will be fixed soon.

MEANWHILE

We can try SKYPE "Conference Call" , it's free for 7 days. just login at Skype, select more useres and click "Conference Call", should work. For selecting multiple users click on the name with the mouse while keeping pressed "CTRL" or the button with the apple logo for the Mac (the button that you use for multi selection).

If you don't have me on your list my skype account is

DAVIDECLERICI

I could even be online with my phone

Please add here your Skype name if you want to partecipate. I hope that our usual (and free) videochatroom will be fixed soon

Then I guess its back to the two tin cans and string for you guys. I tried Linux once and had a driver issue that almost costed me a drive. So I am not really into the experimenting game. When they are free is when there is no one to blame for the bad OS. XP has been with me for years and have never a problem with it, but that is just me and what I work with. I am to lazy to deal with a learning curve.

I'll turn back to windows when it's free and open source.
A PC is not a toy or a pocket watch, it's a powerful tool, can even be a weapon.
As far as I am concerned, I want to get the CHANCE to know what's going on on my one, at least.
I don't control every part of the code myself, of course. I'm not too capable of c/c++ programming. (I'm free to get better, thou )
But there are millions of people around the world that are, and they allways have an eye on this or that...
I rely on something suspicious in open software would be discovered really quick.
That's why I've been using gimp, Blender, Firefox and OpenOfficeOrg in my own windows times already. Since four years running completely on Linux now and feeling very much better, only for Poser there's no alternative, unfortunally.
With nonfree/closed software, on the other hand, the only people who control what's going on are the progammers, and the people who pay them. You'll never know, what's behind the curtains of your windows
I have more reasons for using open source free software, but that'll get really political, and would not fit here at all, as well as more rant on ignorants like oovoo and equals

I am glad you have found something you can make use of as your tool. But it is up to the people who build Linux to make it compatible to go around the all mighty Microsoft. Remember any thing after a while conforms around one item. It is by popularity it remains and by the numbers it is by default. Remember the Beta and VHS. Beta was better but VHS by numbers won out. The same with any other trying to be the big dog. Linux I am sure is a great OS but it is not for me. I could learn it but if I am not going to be a part of it then I find my cause meaningless. One of these days there will be an OS that will take the place of MS and it will be because of the change of times and a bit of history to boot. Maybe even Linux. Who knows. I know you are good at what you do with it and I say why change.

Well, Linux looks to me like Posetteforever, it lives because it‘s free to use and supported by its own community. Sure Windows is the standard by number of commercial programs that run with it but it doesn't mean that it‘s the best. Vhs won on betamax because porns were sold on that support, but betamax was far better. I play around sometimes with linux, but I have not the same patience of Andreas and I give up after a while ... Nevertheless it runs flawlessly on my PC...

An update on Ubuntu Linux. Just want to say I downloaded it and have it on my drive. Everything seems to work well but getting things to install is the main problem and unsupported plug-ins. But it is very promising and I like it. It is a shame that soon as its popularity grows it will become hunted like Microsoft with viruses and things. Its security seems solid and for free you can't beat it. 11.04 has been the best I have seen. So I will use it to some degree. But does it work well with Poser and not eat up the memory so much? Never the less a very friendly OS and has a good start with a promising future.   Even though it has been around as Red Hat and others it has had a good ride. It is a shame though oovoo seems to not support it or things like VPN.

... so this won't be a solution to the chatroom problem, either

Not really but hey you never know. I am sure there are a lot of Linux people and it will be a matter of time before someone gets a fix.
