Night time torture

As I walk through the vallley of despair, and climb the mountain of lonliness
The mists of chaos confuse my thoughts
I turn and seek to find if one follows me there but no one is to be found
Restlessness invades my body, and I tumble and toss, but to no avail
The sweet slumber of sleep eludes me, and wakefullness abounds
The night sounds echo around my room, each seeming louder than the one before
Screeching tyres, slamming doors and even the sound of someones snores,
I punch my pillow, I try a drink, but nothing works I am still awake,
What did I do to deserve this I cry, my bed now an instrument of torture, the blankets awry,
The sheets full of wrinkles, my mind tortures me with thoughts of things past,
And some not yet done,
And wait, there through the blinds I see....Oh no its the glimmer of sun
For me the night is not yet over, yet the morning has begun
The start of a new day sees me tired and weary, with eyes looking bloodshot and bleary,
But at least a new hope now dawns, maybe tonight I will sleep deep and sound,
And awake tomorrow to greet the dawn with a smile on my face and not a frown.

Everyone has had a night or nights  like the one in the poem.
Well written, Angie.

There is an abundance of different talents here, to say the very least
