Anyone up for a small chat session ?
How about Friday sometime ?
If anyone is interested, reply in this thread and we can set up
a time that is good for all who want to join in.
That is if anyone is interested...

We went on Central Daylight Time this weekend.  Looks like we be in the same time zone.
I don't think we'll have many of our European members at that time. Tormentor, Ken The Viking,TdaC and ahjah are at least 7 or 8 hours ahead of us.
Jonesy in kangaroo land is probably already into the next week.
They might be night owls, though.
I know that GP and Landman are two hours behind us, out in Oregon.
We'll see what happens and who joins in.

Give me a time and I'll try and be there to join in if ya all want me too. I don't know how much chatting I'll be able to get in as it depends on how well my hands and fingers are working lol
Best way to let me know is just send me a private message around time time you want me in there cause it will generate an email to me. I keep my email open most all the time so I see when I"ve got an email pretty often.
Well today I become a trucker's widow, my bf will be driving long haul with his nephew who also does that for a living. That means I can make my children my slaves and spend all my time on the computer harassing you guys

Okay Landman, you're a cab !

I remember a long time ago, when I was managing a software publishing house for a friend of mine.
It was located in the same place as his electronics surplus business.  I was only a few feet away
from the main counter. One day an extremely drunk individual stumbled in from somewhere.
The nearest place to get drunk at was a few blocks away.
Anyway, he staggers up to the counter, looking all wild and wasted, and says ....

"Could one of you guys....uhhhh....call me..... uhhhh....a cab ?"

There were two guys working the counter, Brian and Danny.
Danny says...
"What cab company ?"
Drunk guy says..." I don't give a sh*t, call me a f*ckin' cab !"
Me (very sarcastically while working on a mailing list on the computer ):
"Okay, you're a cab ...."
(I didn't think that the drunk heard me, but his hearing was quite good   )

The drunk hears this nearly inaudible mumble and lunges over the counter at me.
Danny and Brian are trying to prevent the drunk from getting to me.
My friend Larry, owner of the place, is heading for the
PANIC BUTTON to summon the cop shop, only a few blocks away....
Larry, Brain and Danny are yelling at me to "Get the hell out the back door !"
The drunk is going wild and calling me all sorts of names like...
"You c-sucker, a-hole, and all sorts of slurred stuff....
Needless to say, police arrived within minutes and took the drunk away.

Everytime I hear that line, I have to bite my tongue.

I think that I can get away with it here because Oregon is a fair distance away.

Yes but Land's a Canadian and they are quick and know all the shortcuts! You might want to hid in the garage again Den lol

So it looks like the friday afternoon chat thing is attracting some attention, this should be fun. I guess I'm going to have to be really good and put on my stupid wrist splints and wear them the rest of the day and all night so my fingers will be all rested for tomorrow's chat fest

Here's another...

When I used to work for Radio Shack, the store that I was working in
was next door to the government run liquor outlet.
A hotel was nearby and had a beverage room.
(We can only buy liquor at hotel vendors and government liquor stores here)
A drunk staggers into the store, (not the same guy from above) weaving all over the
place, and looks like he could crash into all sorts of audio equipment at
a moments notice....
He makes it to the counter, looks me in the eye and asks...
"Do have tomorrow's Free Press ?" (local newspaper)
I'm standing there thinking "What the....????"
A co-worker next to me is familiar with the way my mind works and is trying not to laugh, but I say, as serious as could be...
"I just sold the last copy !"
(Co-worker makes a bee-line for the backroom trying not to burst out laughing, but fails...)
The drunk guy asks:
"Are you getting any more in ?"
Me:
"Come back tomorrow..."
Drunk leaves the store. Co-worker is ROTFL
It was my day off the next day, so I don't know if the guy
came back. Nobody mentioned it , sooo, I guess he didn't.
