Subject: Bad freebie link removed
The latest freebie link, that lead to a ucraine site ahs been removed. The site redistributed some models that did not belong to them. One of the creators who's models were redistributed was sam's 3d. They have been notified and replied that a lot of the models belonged to them and that they had sent an email to the site owner about it.

Thank you, Thilda, for catching that situation.

I sent whatizname the PM. He has replied asking for help in learning how to detect problem sites. I replied to him inturn wis some advice about how to detect some problems. I also told him that if he ever finds a site that he has doubts about to ask one of us and together we may detect such problems before they are posted in public.

Thank you Thilda :thumb: ! I've replied in the whatizname's thread, I've no doubt of his good faith, the net is big and we should take double care on the sites that belong to countries without or with poor regulation, such as many of the ex soviet union, this is the suggestion I gave to him... Thank you for the surveillance friends :heartbeat: !

I ran across a site like this several months ago. When I clicked on a download link it took me to a page that the d/l owner had set up warning of bandwidth theft and direct linking. I went back to the original site and carefully moused over the links. Sure enough. Problem site.

I think I filed the link with other problem sites. If I can find it I will post the name here in the staff forum so we are all aware of it.

:mmmh: Not the one I ran across. Seems I did delete the link and don't remember the name. I'd recognize it if it ever shows up.
