01 Now lets install the python scripts on the Python Palette,
Go to your Poser instalation and search for the mainButtons.py file located in Poser 5RuntimePythonposerScripts, make a copy of this file before editing, if you donĀ“t have other scripts instaled this should look something like this, |
02 Let's look for an empty button and edit it in this way
03 Now if you start Poser and open the Python palette it shoud have the Morph Utilities button set
04 If you click on it It open a set of two Scripts that we'll use in this tutorial
05 Let's load Don, I'm going to use this character because it comes with Poser 5, is not a bad character (Michael 2 texture compatible)
and most of all because he has alternate geomety in the hip to enable genitals on/off, and this will let me show you how to handle this. So load Don and then tourn genitalia Off. |
06 Let Export only the hip, go to File/Export/Wavefront OBJ... in the Hierarchy unselect everything then select only the hip
07 Name it HipNG and in the export options select only "Include body part names in polygon groups" and "As Morph Target (no world transformation)"
08 Now tourn Genitalia on and then import the exported hip OBJ, in the import options unselect everything
09 Let's go again to File/Export/Wavefront OBJ... in the Hierarchy unselect everthing then select every
useful body part, most of the time you won't need the fingers and the Eyes, and most important select the HipNG Prop |
10 In the Export Options select again "Include body part names in polygon groups" and "As Morph Target (no world transformation)"
11 Now let's open Compose Click on "Read File" then on Browse in the File type select Wavefront OBJ file .obj, browse
to find your Don obj just exported then click on "Read" |
12 Expand "All Objects" and select all the body parts you can use standard windows command like select the first then
Shift key + select the last one, now click on Merge Items, give the name Body and select Delete Source Objects |
13 Select the Body object then Join Vertices, select Join Geometry Vertices and Delete Source Objects
14 You'll end with an object called Body_jv select it and go to "Save Items" use the Browse buttons to find a good place
where to save it and give them a good name, I added _JOIN at the end and save a Vertex Map File too, this is very important give the same name as the obj for easy reference. |
