Yes, I know, I'm a stupid

I have posetd a picture of mine in the July contest at Renderosity. I knew I never had the possibility to win something ( I firmly believe that you can't win a contest with a picture made only with free stuff, without a commercial product sold or supported by the site).

(Edited by Posy: Tormie lied shamelessly)

I red :"Voting will take place in the forum in a special thread after the challenge closes and is open to all forum members", so when the forum closed I searched and searched but I never found anything  :? .
Ok, I thought that it was because I partecipated in the contest, but I would have submitted a vote for a picture made by someone else...

Today I saw the winners list

(Edited by Posy: Tormie said : "GRRR! GRRR! ENVY.... ENVY!!!" )

I'm a stupid, I searched in the "challenge arena", "the contest forum" and found nothing. I just want to see how many people have voted for my picture, do you know how ?

  well you knew
what kind of folks were over there

Certainly we all understand that you've been niffed by Renderosity
I wouldn't in the least blame you, for using you wonderful power
of illustration to vent your rightous anger, by making fun of them.

It's RARE that I even go there to see the "Free-bie" section.
It's  usually  the same old junk.

Tormentor you are the King of finding good Free-bie sites,
and I just wish that you'd   -create a forum, with links to all
the best places.

After  all the only way to truly   STING  Dazerosity
is to show the path  that results   in obtaining good stuff
without putting our money  -into their greedy hands...

On those rare occasions that I am compelled to BUY something
I know that I go to 3D Commune or Content Paridise .
I am NOT spending a penny at Dazerosity, and I hope nobody does.

Leahman, every place had good and bad people, there are many that do not like this place too. It's like going into someone else house: maybe who live in the house have a religion that prohibits to walk in the house with shoes, as a guest I leave my shoes on the entrance... A site is the same, it has some habits that should be known and respected by the people that come in. One can even make a mistake, you explain why and if he or she is an intelligent individual is not a problem to understand and if you agree, you stay, if you don't agree you don't come anymore. Problem is when you come in without shoes and you see people walking in the rooms with boots covered with mud, you ask why to the owner and he replies that no one has boots on, especially if he or she is a friend "more than you".
BTW leahman, I'm not the king of anything, friends here passed a lot of time collecting mega cool links and we're all the same, with the same passion, maybe trying to have the same or even superior results without spending money.

Honestly, and I said it a lot of time, it's not a big problem for me to pay the bills for the site, internet become cheaper and cheaper as time passes, plus I host the site in the USA and with the actual exchange rate I pay even less    .

About Daz and Renderosity , they are not comparable with a place like Posetteforever , so it has no sense to blame them: they have different concepts that are not even in competition with a place like this . if someone wants to buy something in my opinion they should buy it wherever it is, each store is the same, maybe if same products are sold with different prices, obviously you go where they are cheaper. The rest of the place converges to the store, like when you buy a pack of cookies you eat the cookies and then you have only a little or no use of the packing. And we should not criticize other places because they have a "politic" different from our: they are not here, one can simply ignore them or even be here and there. But if someone come here, he or she come here as a friend, if not is useless to be a member of a place like Posetteforever.

in the same article, you both critise Dazerosity
and then  critise me for critising them.

Each of us can not escape the events of our dealings
with those people.  You entered a contest only to discover
that they are   'not going to   'consider fairly   -an entry without
"Their" models  -in it.
 it's a contest  -of ART
but Art   -is not the decisive factor,
their selling models is.

As a model maker I discovered that they do not treat fairly
anyone except   "Their"   -model makers.

They gave me endless excuses about why I'd be just so very lucky
if they decided  to sell my models,
and about why they needed to keep  -a huge percentage
of the price of the models  -they do sell.

But I got a  very different Story when I approached 3D Commune,
who was excited to sell my models,  to give me the Lion's Share
of the Price, and sends a check without any problems -at all.

I don't need
to cloud my view of them
to make myself   'feel good
All  'I need to know
is that   everybody I know
who's dealth  with them
(and I don't mean  buying from them)
has had   a very  SOUR  experience.

(My GrandMother would call such  people "Jack-booted thugs")

Everyone  simply wants   -to  BE TREATED FAIRLY.

Your contest entry was not treated
-as were those  'that contained models  -purchased from them.

They wanted to keep twice as much of the selling price -of my models
as did  other retailers, and   'they LIED - about it.

-As a Frind,
I can not honestly recomend that you do  'any business with them.
that would be wrong of me.
I try to do business where everyone is treated -with fairness,
honesty, and respect, as those are the qualities that suceed
in business and in life.

I'm not going to criticize anyone or anything leahman , I'm simply no (or no more) interested in contests. About percentages and the rest honestly PF is not exactly the place where discuss about how much money one can make selling 3d products because we sell nothing. But: you may sell and keep a larger byte on small places, but you sure sell more on big places, this is the reason of the different percentages. If 3d commune would become bigger you could say bye bye to the higher percentage and the smiles . And again this topic is turning against our TOS because it is going to promote places where 3d art is sold, can we talk of something else instead of stores and how much money one can make ? Maybe apple pies ?

well I was talking  - about FAIRNESS  and honesty...
and  being NICE.

And  for the record I find a LOT more Free-Bie things I can use
at 3DC...   and  I like  FREE stuff...
Today  -I got 2 DVDs and some  little Sony stereo speakers for my new computer
from my BF LYNN ! !

he sayz he may be able  -to FIX power supply on my old G-4...
then, I'd have a back- up !
