P4 female is the more realistic  female figure that I ever seen Den. Your pic showing the hips side by side prove that  mayadoll uses some anime figure principles as Ken said. The pic show that she looks like a anime gal. I read an article published in a Brazilian magazine where affirms that P4 female looks like a human being and Vicky looks like "Suzy" (a Brazilian equivalent to Barbie doll) who has the same joint structure. In other words they think that Vicky looks like a "toy figure".

My "2 cents":

I think that the "quality" of a character is the possibility to make what you figure in your mind with it. If you can make morphs that change the shape as you like the character is good. In Den's example, I don't know, but if someone can make good morphs for Mayadoll's fingers I think that the result may be good. Mayadoll is a free character and has good points expecially in the joints. I see Paul Mon's Cyber woman and I think she is human-like and fantastic ! In conclusion I think that with the right work with morphs Mayadoll could look like a woman. She has also a large number of polygons in the head and they could be used for good shapes. For Victoria I can say nothing, I tried something but I wasn't able to make good breast morphs...

P.S.

Dennis, I don't believe that P4Woman's shape is similar to the woman you've married     ...

You are right about change the figure shape with morphs but we can not  change  the  joint structure. And we still have a lot of work to change the figure shape if we like a more more realistic female character. "It is not intelligent to spend money with a "realistic female character" like Vicky who is less realistic than the P4 program default character" said the brazilian article.

"Poser is very used here in Brazil to illustrate magazines and periodicals and characters used always are the P4 male and female despite P5 characters are available" said the same article.

definately!  scan them!!  i wanna see, heh.  I would be VERY interested in seeing commerical works useing the p4 people  

  I use MayaDoll because, like my favourite females, she's free and easy Anatomically speaking she's way off the target but as StudioMaya provided her for free I don't mind. The hip and groin area are not the best. Partially or fully clothed she works for me. I still prefer to use Possette for most images. If I was doing a totally nude image I wouldn't dream of using MayaDoll. I've never really liked the look of the Vickies and Mikes but a lot of people do. Some people use gouache, some pastels, some oils, some go in for realism, some for surrealism..it's all art at the end..well, in theory
