I am glad you like them I found them while looking for a makeup tutorial yesterday..

Now my only problem is I can't get them to work. In the materials room I replace the current texture map with the new one but the only thing that changes is the skin texture. I can see her new eyebrows under the old ugly ones and her lipstick doesn't show up. I am sure I am doing this wrong. Please help.

Don't forget that you have to change each texture map for each item.

In the material room, assuming that Posette is figure 1, to the right select body. Then notice that under Preview, each part of the body is listed and each part of the body has a texture map associated with it. Select each one and change to the texture map you want to use. Change the preview also, so that when you are in the pose window, Posette will look like you want her to.

I don't know of a way to change all of the body maps at one time, but this has worked for me.

Great I will try that and see what I get. Thanks so much.

By the way, using this method to assign the texture maps, you can even use different maps on the same character. Use the body textures of one and the head textures of another. However, if the skin textures are not the same you will get odd results. But there are many cases where the creator of a texture set will use multiple multiple maps to get a certain effect.

Experiment and have fun! :)

Ok I changed all the texture maps. But her eyelashes and eyebrows look nothing like the ones in the map when I view the map in PSP.

Now what.

OH and what is the name of the P3 Woman.. I have figured out the rest but not that one. She came with poser5. I really wish they would keep the names for those of us just starting out.. LOL

What is the name of the texture file you are using. I'll take a look at it when I get off work tonight and see if I can figure out what the issue is.

In the meantime, you might check that you didn't accidently miss assigning the new textures. Assuming you are using P4 NW hi resolution (Posette), there is and eyelash and two eyebrow zones. At least in the P6 version, not sure about P5.

I don't recall that the P3 people had names. P6 only comes with P2, P4 and above. No P3 characters. I think the names were covered in another forum. Will find it for you.

Thank you.

About P3 Woman, she is the Nude Woman model first provided with Poser 3. Her head is morph compatible with that of the Poser 4 Nude Woman but uses a different textue map layout and her body is not morph compatible. They are both Posettes.

I took a look at the textures. I think, (and the others can correct me if I'm out in left field), that the problem is fundamental to these textures and the original UV mapping of Posette. I did a real closeup render at highest settings, and I can just make out the eyelashes.

What I think is these texture files are not as large (lower resolution) as some of the newer textures that you see (ie 1000x1000 vs 4000x4000), so some of the definition is lost when it is applied. A solution may be to try some of the improved textures that you will find in our Free Stuff. Another option is to try using a transmap on the eyelashes to get some displacement and give them more definition.

There is a lot of collective knowledge here at PosetteForever, so keep asking and we will try to continue to help.
