Subject: My doggie is sick
My doggie - Lizzie, the 5 year old is sick, and i'm so worried. She got sick on friday night. She refused to drink and eat and was thowing up. I took her to the animal hospital and they took a lot of blood tests, but couldn't find anything wrong. I got something for her tummy. Usually when i take her for a walk she tries to chase the birds, cats and rabbits, but not now...
On saturday she drank and eat very little. She was still throwing up and all that was coming out the other end was blood. Yesterday she refused to eat and drink again. She couldn't stand up or walk. Last night she couldn't even sit up or turn around when she was laying down. At 8 this morning i took her back to the hospital - she hates the hospital, and guess who could walk now.... They kept her and are doing tests today and i'm going to get a call from them later. But i'm so worried, i feel so helpless.

Did she try to bite or play with any frogs or lizards? Some in our Country are poisonous but not to an extent to kill a dog but to make it sick. Just a thought. :-k I hope she gets better. :)

It's so sad to read that Thilda  ... I know how you love your dogs :heartbeat: ...
It seems to me that they are symptoms of poisoning, like if Lizzie have eaten something like rats' poison.... But I just phoned to my mother and she said that in case of poisoning even the nose would bleed and probably Lizzie has an internal block. Usually they use surgery to cure it. But I hope that your doctor there are very able, and I'm sure of it. My thoughts are for you and your beloved doggie Thilda  , let we know how the thing are going...

Oh Thilda, I'm so sorry, I hope she get better soon, I really understand you, we have 2 doggies and we love them as they were our childs not even the coming of our daughter 3 years ago diminished that love, now we have 3 childs :) , and we get very worried when they get sick, specially Fiona in her last pregnancy, by the way the simpthoms looks like Parvovirus (I don't know the english name but I think it should be similar) it's confirmed by a shit test (sorry, I didn't find a sinonimous in my dictionary  ) hope she gets better soon I'll pray I lot for her.

Thanks for your kind words. Yesterday evening they were going to do an x-ray - i haven't heard the result from it yet (it's 7 in the morning here). They said that she could stand and sit, but not walk. She seemed to have a little more energy and wagged her tail when they talked to her. Since she hadn't eaten or had any water, she was dehydrated - that's fixed now. Still the bloodtests show nothing. Blood, liver, kidnyes, suger are fine. No fever.

Thilda, I'm praying for your doggie to be home and well soon. I am so sorry to hear this and I hope they find out what is causing this to happen. I have two dogs and a parrot so I know the feeling of helplessness when they are sick or hurt. Please keep us posted on how she's doing :)
